I think most people appreciate what makes a game a well... game. Textures < Mechanics for those who actually like playing games. Sometimes it's just better to accept something for what it is; and if you don't like it, develop your own game so that some ungrateful kid on the internet can complain about how ugly your hard work is =)

A: Because a lotta people don't have the Vram to run games with ultra HD textures, so this game is still accessible to them.


Don't like it? Well you're welcome to mod in HD textures at your leisure, and everyone is happy.

Don't care about getting an actual answer because you just want to complain for no reason? Understandable have a nice day.

It's a conscious design decision and actually almost all people with a dedicated GPU can run this game regardless on how much VRAM they have. Of course it will run better if you have at least something that is not older than, say five to six years.

If you have at least four GBs of VRAM you can even use the Willybach textures. I've tried it and it worked fine.

Edit: Any MY opinion is that default Valheim looks gorgeous. And now? It's your opinion vs. mine. Nobody's right. It's a matter of taste.

so your saying that graphic make the game what it is? im not saying a pretty game cant be fun im stating that just cuz a game has amazing graphic doesnt me its a good game. there are tons of amazing looking games that are total crap. if a game isnt fun to actually play then amazing graphic cant fix that.

I didn't see too many 'facts' in your post either other than you don't like the graphics (and opinions that don't align with yours). Admit it, you're just complaining and looking for validation.

My opinion is that default Valheim looks great in many apsects (lighting, etc) but the minecraft texture just kill it for me. The foliage looking square and blocky, and the lack of textures on trees, rocks, etc. just looks bad to me in vr. I should have mentioned that I play in vr because the graphics matter so much more than on flatscreen if that makes sense. I wish everybody could see this game with willybach's hd textures (high settings) in vr; It is so beautiful and immersive that it blows my mind.

I have tried it. Some things do look nice, others less. *shrug* It's still a matter of opinion.

Edit: This isn't and never was intended as a photorealistic game.

I probably shouldn't have used the word "ugly"...just too negative.

NO i do not hate the graphics nor dislike them. i dont play chronicon for its graphics but game play. to many gamers these days. care far more about the graphics than the game play itself.

mechanics of a game are a far greater than any style of graphics ever can be. imo a true gamer could care less about graphics. these gamers care morea bout the mechanics of the game over graphics.

IG didnt sell about 5mil copies of this game cuz of graphics. the game play is what sold it. risk of rain 1 and 2 didnt sell a ton cuz of graphics but game play.

No one is saying that if a game has good graphics its good. What people are saying is that visualization is the main source of information we have while playing games, makes sense for people to want that to look good right?

Think about a third person game with a terribly ugly main character. You have to look at that character for the entire game, wouldn't you want it to look pleasing? If i'm playing a fun game because it has fun mechanics and gameplay, i'd also really like it to look good as well.

Thanks for this. Many op seem incapable of understanding the distinction here. Is always that I'm not a real gamer cuz I need sweet graphics AND fun gameplay mechanics. In my mind, I'M the REAL GAMER because of these things.
