spawns on my seed suddenly out of control
so i've had 2 temporary coastal bases going for a while which are very close to each other, one is in a plains area (my flax/barley farm) and the other is a simple meadows backup base, and today, pretty much out of nowhere, the spawnrates of necks, deer, boars and greylings have gone crazy, specifically in the space between these 2 basecamps.
i literally had to deploy wolves as sentries just to keep the spawnrates in check but its still so intense that they just keep on spawning pretty much before they can be killed off.
in the time it takes me to run from one base to the other, nearly all the mobs will have respawned (and it only takes about 20-30 seconds of sprinting to get from A to B).
i like the fact that i'm getting tons of free meat and resin, but to be honest this is a bit over the top, and i'd like for it to stop, particularly because they keep spooking the lox i am trying to tame which have increased the tame time quite significantly.
i tried putting workbenches around because people keep telling me those work like de-spawners, but that didn't do squat, and for obvious reasons making campires or other fire-related buildables is out of the question because again, that will spook the lox.
what the hell do i do? is my game bugging? why do these mobs just keep on coming despite despawners being put in place?!
i even chopped down half the forest in an attempt to deal with it, but it changed nothing.

I have a base I just built in meadows that is directly bordering the plains and the spawn time of meadows creatures is off the charts, so much so that the deathsquitos and lox are a problem since they chase everything. Every time they clear out the meadows creatures, they all get respawned and try again. It's just constant fighting. And since lox and many other things will attack lights, I can't put up any anti-spawn measures. Even after clearing the fuling camp, lox, and deathsquitos and putting down anti-spawn lights, they still spawn and destroy all my lights... I hear this gets fixed in the experimental build.

Have you tried leaving your base, maybe having a sleep elsewhere, and coming back later the next day?
yep. didn't work either.

1. Are you using mods?
2. Deer and birds spawn even in places that have full anti-spawn coverage. (Likely a bug or perhaps intentional since they deal no damage)

no mods at all. my server is made for an authentic experience for me and my few buddies who came back to check mistlands, and we agreed to a no-mods playthrough.

i wish i had that problem compared to the gazillion mobs, especially since we are in need of feathers.
