Is anyone still having issues with this this morning? I still can't log into my husband's server and join him.

No thanks. I play with my wife and kids but we can't right now because of the issues Steam is having.

I can't log into my hubby's server either. :( It's frustrating, because i've been waiting all day for him to come home so I can play on his world and help him out.

the steam servers are all screwy at the moment it seems

it wont let me load my buddy serve saying failed to connect:/

I hope it will be fixed soon. I can't seem to find an official thread addressing this issue, so I really hope they're aware of it.

same here.

Of course it is, you can connect directly to a server by entering an ip address.

Just use the address of the host.

I just connected to my own server, not on lan. No issue obviously, the game is just opening a socket to the given ip address.

Yes let's blame Valheim for not having any online, and then claim you used third party app's to play Valheim online. You should be ashamed.

I took the OP post to mean instead of connecting through Steam, as opposed to straight online connection. If we're wanting to play with friends on their servers, we're unable to do that right now.

Well yeah, open Valheim, select character : "Start" => "Join Game" => "Join IP"

Then enter the server ip and optionally port if the hosts set up a different one from the default.
