I get that, But I don't remember any Single viking being capable of all of the ♥♥♥♥ we can do in this game, a Floor/roof tile shouldn't be a huge [request]. [...]

Regular Vikings weren't hand-picked by Odin Allfather to revive from death into the spirit realm in order to hunt down his dread foes, either. So there's things Valheim characters can do that regular Vikings couldn't... but they wouldn't suddenly have a starkly different culture and architecture. The architecture of every ruined wood building in all the lands of Valheim have sloped rooves, as far as I've seen. Because every Viking that came before you was content with sloped roof pieces. Just as you'd expect of a people who regularly used angled rooves to avoid having their houses crushed by winter snows, as a matter of simple daily living.

I would personally love some sort of "finish" treatment (maybe crafted with beewax or tar) that could allow us to weather proof structures :)
I was thinking the same thing but for clothing. And oil skin jacket so the water would roll off and you wouldn't get wet. I hate running around in the pouring rain getting wet the moment your foot hits the outdoors. If we could have a set of clothing that give you a minuet or two before you get soaked, that would be amazing.

Yeah, I get what you are trying to say, but on that same end, if my Viking is such a 1 in a million kinda man, why can't he figure out how to apply something they use on their boats to a few planks. Seems kinda silly to me. It's not like I'm asking for my viking to be able to build a tv or make gunpowder. I'm just asking that if one man is capable of all this ♥♥♥♥, atleast let him innovate on the design of his forefathers. And not going to lie, kinda confused why you care so much, it's not like it would affect your gameplay at all, if you didn't want to use the floor tile as a roof then just don't.
It's not like we are asking for heaven and earth to be moved, we are asking for the ability to build more than just one style of building. I've already built a viking village. Not let me get slightly Anglo-Saxon with it. Not like it's that far off of inaccuracy as vikings historically occupied Anglo-Saxon buildings and kept them as is, and the vikings that settled on Britain eventually adopted the Anglo-Saxon style as well. So asking for me to have a balcony out the top of part of my house isn't exactly stretching the lore in any which way other than to say "My viking has more than 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain cells"

See, and I like that, but the problem is using stone in the middle of a wooden building ruins a lot of potential in making builds better. And also doesn't help the "Not viking argument" that apparently needs to be had. Although I like the idea of making my forts stone instead of Wood, even if inaccurate.

this is also what i really want. not a fancy but just a balcony without any roof just for the second floor or simply for little fortress, we could use stone but for the aesthetic( also stone are thicc) and not being to acces if stone in the begining make me wonder if they would eventualy created some tile that not degradating from rain.

It's not even Viking related, it's only physics. Water will soak into the wood, wear down the durability, and eventually cave the roof in. Unless the wood is treated in some way, you're not going to see flat Wooden roofs.. anywhere. Hell even Minecraft is more believable with it's massive cubes that would definitely serve as a solid piece of building material. If you're going for a Wooden roof, make it 1 meter thick haha.

Viking rooves were angled to let snow slide off before the weight of it cracked the roof supports. They didn't use flat roof sections much at all.

I get that, But I don't remember any Single viking being capable of all of the ♥♥♥♥ we can do in this game, a Floor/roof tile shouldn't be a huge ask. (I mean a single viking by himself doing all the smithing, cooking, building, harvesting, etc.)
It also would just be nice to be able to build forts that don't have decaying walkways all the time, Don't get me wrong, I understand that they want to keep an authentic feel to building, but I hate that I'm so limited in my creativity because of an arbitrary need to Have all roof's be angled. Let me spend resin(or beeway/tar like Polaris said) and wood to make a Treated floor panel and let that operate as a roof as well, or something. I wanted to make my hall a three story building that the third story was like a building on top of the building, that then had a balcony to walk on. I know vikings didn't roll like that. But it would be nice to feel my progression in my buildings as well as my gear and crafting stations.

They could just set a roof flag on the current floors, so we could use them as a roof if we wanted to.
