Did you ever figure this out? My wife has a similar issue, always stuck at 30 fps no matter what settings we change, low, high, etc.

Windows is set to 60hz native, every other game plays fine at 60fps. Valheim, however, is stuck at 30 with vsync off.

Yes I did actually, but haven't played Valheim for quite a time now. AFAIK it had something to do with Vsync, if it was turned on game ran on 30 FPS. I'll download the updates and @ me later, by responding in this thread, and I'll let You know, what does my settings look like—something there should solve the problem.

You should enable sync. v sync will match your frames to your monitor's refresh rate. If your monitor is 60 mhz, you can't get any better than 60 fps, Even if your being told the game is rendering at 100 frames, you're just wasting electricity and heating up your room. I have a 144hz monitor and I run 36 fps. If I let it run at 72 fps (half of my 144hz) my temps on my card would be in the 80's. At 36 I get temps in the 50's and notice no difference in gameplay and don't sweat nearly as much.

In game V sync is the problem turn it off from in game, use your card settings if u want to limit fps.

With these settings it runs at a solid 60 fps for me. Having foliage maxed really made it dip a lot. Vsync off it seems to limit itself to 60 with the resolution selection.

I started playing without ground cover to help me find thistle, red mushrooms and such...It looks barren at first but you really get used to it. Then...when i go to turn it back on, I don't like it because I can't see anything on the ground.

So I roll with ground vegetation set to low.

vsyn isn't helping me though, since it's already off (off in both game and windows) and the game is still stuck at 30fps no matter what graphic settings.

Have you tried forcing it into windowed mode / back to fullscreen?

Not sure why you'd be capped like that if you're sure vsync is off. Are you positive it's not being forced on in your video control panel in Windows for the game somehow? If you have an Nvidia card, and use Geforce Experience, I've had issues with it messing up some game specific settings occasionally without me being aware.

the game doesnt have true fullscreen it seems, only windowed and borderless windowed

Did you try manually setting the FPS via your graphics driver, e.g. Nvidia's control panel?
