Probably so for next one, but I read that devs will look for a more sustainable content addition mechanic, at some point.

I think this will be pretty mandatory anyway from release moment on, as this game is unlikely to support additional regions/biomes, beyond those already sketched on the map, only stuffing of already existing biomes, or more complex biome inter-mingling and interaction.

Corrupt, no - it may be advised that you start a new world occasionally to get the best spawns of new content but there are already mods dedicated to resetting selected areas of a map in those circumstances. At worst you'll get some weird terrain transitions where world generation rules changed during exploration. Also there are mods for copying buildings between worlds.
