Don't punish people with skill loss if bugs still kill us.

Seriously I was in the water for a long time befor I drowned, on stream mind you, while pressing E to get onto that ladder of the raft forever and I just wouldn't get on. It's a bug, and I lost skill levels for drowning and it was entirely not me. Make crap work in the game befor you punish players for bugs that kill them with skill loss. Thank you.

You can Raise skills again with devcommands. It is EA, remember.

A dev command to remove it would be useful.

Log out to main menu, log into character again. You will have full stamina.

Is the skill loss even that bad ? I honestly never found it that annoying.

^ You lose 5% of all your skill levels when you die. You at 100 in a skill and just died? enjoy being level 95 in it for a week, then 96 in it for a week, then 97 for two weeks, 98 for two, 99 for three weeks, then lvl 100. Did you die any time during this? Enjoy the further skill loss.

Suppose so, honestly never got close to a hundred, usually beat the game and do everything i wanna do before i get bored even before i reach level 60 with a weapon i use all the time, so i never really got too annoyed at it.

Frankly you really shouldn't be at 100 in any skills considering the game isn't even finished.
The only people with 100 skill in anything but running and jumping and maybe wood cutting and pickax.. are people who wasted hours skill training or staying in the world long after the current content.. and a loss of 5% of skills when you have at least 40% more than needed is kind of meaningless in terms of being able to survive. In fact if you go from 100% to 95% and blame skill loss for death then I think you are probably playing over your head by a big margin anyway.

I don't think a bug killed BoxingBud. Using ladders to board rafts, karves, and long ships can be tricky. I have managed to drown myself in panicky attempts to do so. As "the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" says, "Don't panic!"

Yeah, I've hit 100 with Running and Bow. Since those are the two I do the most in the Plains. Then I die a few times because of overconfidence or just not paying attention to my Health or Stamina and they'll drop to the mid 70's or 80's. Jump and Sword usually are in the 40 to 50 range. Lather, rinse, repeat.

'Bout the only one I go out of my way to build up is Blocking (just for grins). I find 3 or 4 skellies and let them strike away while I relax...:steamhappy:

Skill loss as a whole has not been an impacting issue with progressing in the game. Part of the reason for this is that there are so many ways to play the game with different play styles.

You just have to be mindful of your play style and choices mostly.
