Is there a fix for the FPS drop in meadows.
I think it might be a terrain issue causing my FPS drop.
To better explain it. My friends and i got a base in the meadows section. The base is placed near the ocean on the left side (Starting island)(Left corner from eikthyr boss).
Basically i got huge FPS drops on the base (maybe because the base is becoming too big). but everywhere else is okay.
Also we have a lot of animals (chickens and boars).

Just wondering, did culling the herds help at all for you? If so, about how large was your herd/coop, and how many did you murder?
Okay thank you, we'll try that.
Sorry for very late reply. but a dozen i would say. but it didn't improve my FPS.

How much do we have to reduce to avoid the issues.

There is a settings/file tweak that seemed to help my low FPS in the bad areas a bit. My AMD 5700XT got about a 30-50% framerate boost with this fix:
Right click Valheim in Steam library, click 'Manage' and 'Browse local files.'
Open the valheim_Data folder.
Right click 'boot.config' and [edit] with Notepad / Notepad++.
Add "gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1" as a new line to the very top.
Add "gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1" right below the first line.
Save and close the file.
Wow, and wowsie - that worked well for my PC. Got a nice framerate boost, maybe even in the ballpark that you mentioned (subjective). I've got an AMD Radeon 6700XT.
Would you know if choosing Vulcan or DX would be meaningful when you add this config ?
Thanx great bigly :-D

I'd say clear out half of what you got, leave the area and then come back, see if that clears it up enough. If not, maybe cull a few more.
Okay thank you, we'll try that.

Low FPS is often caused by too many instances (building a base, terraforming/etc) and the meadows is often where players choose to build. It sounds like you are experiencing what many already have.

This is likely your primary issue. Also we have a lot of animals (chickens and boars).
