Did you have mods installed? I had to remove my BepInEx folder. not sure if mods are still a thing, but i had to remove the entire folder to get it to launch.

This was my issue, I forgot I had mods installed and just had to delete the BepInEx folder, after that the game launched no issues.

I have this issue. My player.log says

Mono path[0] = 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim/valheim_Data/Managed'
Mono config path = 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim/MonoBleedingEdge/etc'

Nevermind. I had BepInEx installed. I thought I reinstalled steam when I got this new PC but I actually rememeber copying steam over.

Have you guys tried rebooting your PCs? I've had similar problems with other games, and sometimes reboot has helped.

Doesn't work either. Almost 4 reinstalls and I've given up.

Have u tried removing IronGate folder from "%AppData%/LocalLow" ? thats a location of your saves and configs, if that wont help rollback graphics settings to default in Nvidia/AMD control panel, if still nothing check the Windows event viewer what warnings occurs during launching the game.

Rather than uninstalling & reinstalling, did you try the Verify Files option through Steam?

You should also check you have the latest version of Visual C++ Redistributables installed, that's a common issue.

And try also starting the game from within the install folder as "Administrator".

I'm assuming you can start other games, but you may also want to try turning off your anti-virus or making sure Valheim isn't being blocked by it (depending on what you run & it's settings).

Failing that, you may want to reinstall Steam itself. Sometimes that fixes things like this.

I know it's annoying but since it's on your machine you'll likely have to try a few different approaches to find the fix - always frustrating! I hope you can get it resolved soon.

Did that end up letting you fire up the game ok?

Im curious as well, if the OP even cares... he didnt tell what steps he tried already.
If something works it should work, if not then make it work.

I wouldnt recommend reinstalling whole Steam app, since it has all of your screenshots and savegames for other games!...

Try verifying the files on steam first. If that does not work, try reinstalling the game itself.

If neither of those works, uninstall the game and delete the steam install file. You should be able to right click the game in steam and choose open file locations. If that also does not work. Glad it worked, apparently Im a "basement dweller fairy without friends" who knows his stuff... thats why my first answer was a little rude. Its very helpful to add anything in the topic if you played before I would point at that location instead of blind search.
