Can't play an old world on the Server
Hello,
a friend and me played 1 year ago. Now, after Mistlands, we want to play again. As long as we had not discovered the whole map, Mistland should intergrate itself. Now i uploaded the old world step for step via ftp onto Nitrado. After a few unsuccessful attempts i want to ask if there is anybody with the same experience and possible a solution. Thanks.

eigentlich steht schon alles oben. Im Endeffekt kehren wir nach über einem Jahr nach Valheim zurück. Natürlich hat sich das Spiel weiterentwickelt und obwohl ich seinerzeit keine Probleme hatte, unser Spiel zu Nitrado hochzuladen, um unsere Welt da verfügbar zu machen, klappt es dieses Mal nicht. Egal wie ich es versuche, unsere alte Welt wird nicht geladen und es startet quasi eine Unentdeckte. Was ich im Netz so gelesen habe, sollte sich Mistlands selbst in die unentdeckten Gebiete integrieren und auch wenn Server und Welt die gleiche Version haben sollten, gab es wohl noch keine Probleme mit unterschiedlichen Versionen. Nur dass ich unsere eben nicht zum Laufen bringe.
Kann wer helfen? Und habt ihr gegenteilige Infos und das ganze geht doch nicht?

As the database structure of the game changed a bit in that time period - especially around how characters are saved I would have done things a bit differently.
Can you open the old world on a local computer host and make sure it loads their at all- With a new character if need be? I would expect the first time the world loads it would take a while as multiple updates might be being applied.
If that works eventually the you should be able to re use the world! Next step.
You may have seen that cloud saves have caused some debate. To ensure your characters sanity I'd disable that till full release myself before trying a beloved toon in this old resurrected world.
Once your disposable "Admin" character has eyeballed the world for obvious glitches I'd personally recommend you go and use the "Upgrade world" mode ONE TIME to refresh content. Opinions vary on that its optional but what I would do, I sues it flawlessly every time some new goodies come out so I can get the best of them on my 1400 day old world.
Only at that point would I try and upload the db to my server host. The reason being I am now sure that the old world db is in a format that the hosts version of Valheim is expecting.
