Fortifications break way too easily.
I feel like anything and everything can chew through stone construction like it's paper walls. That's a bit silly.
Also, it'd be nice if what boss raid attacked your base was limited to the biome the base is actually in...
The creative side of this game is way too awesome to lose it all in seconds just because you're enjoying the fruits of your labor for 5 minutes.
At the very least institute some sort of blueprint system so that places you made can be restored without having to have some sort of perfect memory.

I wouldn't agree totally with Purgers comment, but I do agree that fortifications are exceedingly flimsy when struck by enemies beyond the fortifications biome.
Seekers annihilating wood and stone like tissue paper is a bit much

I don't understand this decision at all. I haven't experienced it yet, but supposedly "they sought you out" can happen anytime after defeating Yagluth ... meaning BEFORE you even have a chance to upgrade your base.
So they make an extreme design choice (for whatever reason) and all it does it force players to an extreme workaround for it (earthen walls, mods, cheats).
I absolutely love this game but this is one of the things I now have to work around because it's ridiculous, unfair, and quite honestly disrespectful to players who have spent untold hours carefully crafting their little world.
Was their goal for the Mistlands update to see how many players they can make rage-quit?
I'm still anti-mod (for now, but Valheim+ is looking really attractive) ... so for now my "workaround" will be to use the devcommands to "stopevent" the moment it starts.

Defeating the mistlands boss should prevent both of the new invasions from occurring. I only had two invasions in 100 days or so until I felled the boss, one of which was the gjall event and it was literally just one gjall. Events can also only occur every 46 minutes, with 20% chance, not "anytime".
Stone is available as early as defeating Eikthyr. You can lay stone wall blocks partially clipped into each other to make what is essentially double stone wall in the same space (takes a ton of stone though). Additionally, you can create wooden or iron layers, or a structure of walls which funnel enemies into a maze of sorts where they are slowed down. If you have upgraded your defenses in case of troll or fuling invasions, you're already halfway there.

I agree. Instead of stone walls, my home have raised earth walls because of this. And its ugly, even with great care taken to make them nice. None of my homes can be damaged by raids, generally. Occasional hit here and there, but no more nonsense like losing everything on an inside wall from a troll log clipping through or total rebuild from losing a key support and half of it falling.

I believe that strengthening the ward protection or increasing the damage resistance of the materials per biome is needed...Mistlands NPCs simply destroy everything, very quickly...I've taken to living like a Hobbit, burrowing underneath the large roots of trees and filling in the extra entrances...we're given this 'Black Marble' and it's no stronger than the stone blocks already in use...one blast from the flying blobs and 'poof' black marble is like straw.
...wards should take 80% damage...leaving 20% for re-construction, imho. It's a 'magic' ward....sheesh. Or, feed the dang things 'refined green balls o' fire'...lol as fuel to resist.
"...it's a tech ladder, where's the footholds, lol"...and you can quote me there.

Mmm yeah no. Haven't yet had higher rank variants of gjall attack my base though, but I also likely won't ever have since defeating the boss might disable that event completely. If you must "burrow" to evade gjall from fire-bombing your tarred roof, that's fine, but you could also head outside and fight them off. Barley wine and bows become available in the previous biome.

Sorry for not being more precise. By "anytime after" I meant that if the magic 46 minute clock strikes within, say, 5 minutes after defeating Yagluth it CAN happen right then and catch a player totally unprepared (especially if they don't know about this because they are avoiding spoilers).
Started playing yesterday and literally within 1 minute had a raid. You never know what time it is on the raid clock.
I would think the new raids should at least be more like the troll or wolf event and only happen after you've killed one of them. That would at least signal you are ready to do battle with them.
I confess my defenses are lackluster. A simple wood palisade until the iron age when I replace it with a stone wall. When raids happen I run out and confront them so they attack ME and not the base. Killing the mobs is just free resources.
Mistland bugs are tough but quite manageable if you single them out. Just not sure about rushing out to confront them as a group during a raid ... and staying inside will clearly exact too high a cost in damage.

That's how it works with the gjall event, but not with any other boss armies.
Maybe they just need to improve the scaling of the seeker events. It'd probably make more sense to have some seekers act as proper scouts for the hive and not immediately begin a full scale invasion with soldiers.

Been my experience that defeating bosses just makes worse raids happen. Do raids stop when you beat the mistlands boss?I don't understand this decision at all. I'd really like to have my idyllic meadows compound to chill in some times without having to make it on a clean server. I'd also love to have a nice fat fortress to weather attacks in... but how easily stone breaks is a bit much.

Just popped up on the "Public Test" branch:
* Mistlands Seeker event tweaked (It will no longer trigger in Meadows, Swamps, Mountains or Ocean. It will no longer spawn Seeker Soldiers and the amount of Seekers & Broods has been rebalanced)
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah they def need a buff or some kind of way to reinforce them. Until then, terrain walls and wards will reduce structure damage by 20 percent which'll help.

+1 to that raid thing. Raids should only spawn if you are within or adjacent to the biome they are from.
