Yes but its damage YOU do to the boat, vs damage it took from enemies or land.
Idk exactly how it works, but I know I made my longship and when I docked it, I fully repaired it then smashed it up, 40 bark, 40 finewood, 100 nails, and 10 deer hide.

the whole "fix" thingie is totally fake, but good idea to use logic against people spreading this lie

the game only check whether *thing* was built by player or not.
if build by player = return 100% resources
if not build by player = return 33.33% resources
the HP is ignored

Umm.. I've joined people's game and destroyed the cart they made with my axe, getting back 100% of the resources.

I think the point the guy tried to make here is that you should get all mats back, so if he didn't, he either did something wrong or it's due to a bug.

Not sure why you ignored that fact. Why would you tolerate a bug (if it was) even if it sets you back a few minutes?

I always get back the full amount. I'm not sure if you need a workbench nearby to get all the materials back but I always build one just in case before I break it down.

Did you run out of carry weight?

My carry weight was ok.
