Die in mistlands

Valheim's developers have lost track of exaggeration. Every time I die in mistlands it's almost impossible to get my stuff back. I ran out of my best 3 armors my skills have decayed and each time I get further away from getting my stuff back. This is total nonsense. This is not a hard game. This is a stupid game! I spend 70% of game time trying to get my body back!!!

I have had a few times in mistlands where it took several tries to get my corpse. Those swarms next to mines sometimes catch me by surprise. I found a few things that help.

Make extra wisplights and remember to eat well before you go get your corpse.

Follow your previous path, because you're already cleared it, but still sneak anyway just in case. I know you can't sneak and mountain goat at the same time, so alternate between short bursts of movement when it's clear, followed by sitting still in sneak mode. Move, stop, move, stop. The tall rocks are good at breaking line of sight.

Bring an atgeir, even a spare one from a lower biome will help. Do your mountain goat thing, and if a seeker comes at you, you have a decent chance of throwing it off the rock. Seekers can fly but they're not very smart. Sometimes knocking it away is enough to get past it.

Enlist the help of the dvergr if there are any. And if you can knock down one or two seekers before they kill you, that will make the next run a little easier. If you know there will be soldiers, bring a bow and lots of arrows and shoot from on the rocks.

If your tombstone happens to be down a hole, bring ooze bombs.

This! Yesterday I foolishly jumped from a mountain into the black fog. landed on an Infected Mine I didn't know was there. 3 Seekers on top, one was a 2*. It did not end well for me. :steamfacepalm:

On the way back I did a lot of stop, look, listen, jump, pause, jump again, constantly checking my stamina. Carried 100 Frost arrows. Got those bugs and retrieved my tombstone.

Its just tedious to play there due to the lack of vision as every decision you could make on a CR is taken away from you, change route, avoid a certain mob, climb hill etc. Maybe when CRing the fog disappears should be added to the death bonuses.
Prep a couple extra wisp lights, they are relatively cheap to make.

Planting mist lights does not solve problems I describe.

You ether spend 70% of your time getting your body back or you spend 70% of the time grinding your skills higher and maxing out your gear/food.

Mal abgesehn vom ganzen , sind hier nur 3 Leute , deren Profil drauf schliessen lässt , daß diese auch Valheim spielen , bzw. gespielt haben ...
Alle anderen sind in meinen Augen nicht tragfähig .

You hurry too much. Rescue your stuff like you exploring new territory, step-by-step, not a rush run without anything. Naked man running through Mystlands still not a reason for creatures to give you the way to your dropped stuff. Take previous armor, wait for day time where creatures not so aggressive.

And re-think your food setup. More HP will give you more effective shield work. Take two HP food instead of one.

Sneaking works pretty well. Bring a bow and frost arrows.

Difficulty sliders coming up soon in a future patch. Otherwise, you’ll have to be better with using portals or get some mods.

I've never done Mistlands solo, so there's usually one or two people there to grab portal mats off my corpse. I can imagine it'd be pretty frustrating without a nearby portal or friends that can put one up, though.

I'm assuming you're playing solo; if so, when it gets too hard, just cheat. Go into ghost mode, get your stuff back, then turn ghost mode off.

I had the same thoughts about plains first. I think everyone did - that "bzzz" was coming to me in nightmares. When you are just running angrily - you will just die. Again and again. However when you learn the patterns, when you know exactly when to dodge, those MFs stop being a problem.

When it concerns mistlands - the situation is absolutely the same. Anger makes you to copy mistakes. From bugs it is easier to run, attacks of floating thing can be blocked with rocks or buildings, dorfs can't harm you if you just sit somewhere in high ground and shoot them with a crossbow.

Or yea, choose the easy way. Why not.
