What for? Silver arrows aren't any better than Obsidian for any living enemies and the only undead enemy you fight after Moder is Yagluth who is resistant to pierce so he shouldn't be fought with bows to begin with.
Also in the Plains you can just get Needle Arrows easily which is stronger.

I don't have enough needles to do needle arrows. By the time I've killed Yagluth I MIGHT have two stacks. If I've collected it heavily, I might have a box of obsidian...usually I have only half a box. I have two boxes of silver ingots, a box of silver ore and unlimited wood...my two mainstays once I get the Drauger bow.

On Yagluth, I melee him with a silver sword...the only thing I melee in the game. On a typical run to, say, the swamp to farm bloodbags, I use 150 arrows (wood) there minimum in a game day. When we (my wife and I) clear a Fuling camp, I use ~150 silver arrows. There is not enough needles to make the arrows that I need. Obsidian would be my second choice, if I ran out of silver (which is very unlikely).

Almost 1300 hours, all of my characters have maxxed bow skill by the time I get to Yagluth...I shoot fast and a lot...no, I don't miss often, but, I often shoot insurance arrows at Fulings (the unstarred ones usually take two to kill; sometimes, one will do, but I've already let the second go before the first hit).

That's why :-)

Man use frost or obsidian arrows , dont waste time mining silver when u havent more uses than arrows , obsidian are more easy and cheap to mine , u can use freakin portals to transport it , for that and these other 2 do more damage or criticals in much more mobs than silver arrows ....

Not enough glands make the arrows that I need and I get FAR more silver than obsidian on a given mountain.

This is just really bad advice.
Silver arrows do 28% of their damage as spirit, which everything in the plains and mountains is completely immune to.
This means they are doing exactly the same damage as Obsidian arrows against all Fuling types, loxes, deathsquitos, wolves, golems, and drakes. Multiple enemies from the other biomes are also immune to silver. Silver is for use against ghost and the undead.
You are seriously throwing away silver for no gain whatsoever.

Lol its only 1 gland for 20 arrows and drakes spawns a lot in high mountains ( a lot more if u was minning silver like a slave , for nothing )
And what ??? U really knows how to see obsidian ? A tip : are like little normal stone boulders but BLACK , 2 hits and u have a lot of it , there a freakin lot of these high enought that doesnt need a long way journey to transport to your base , just portal it and done , 4 = 20 arrows , and u can get like 400 in a little mountain if u really want farm obsidian
I see that u learn so little in your 1300 hours , i have 700 and already know so far how anything works , u just farmed things that u think are usefull but them really dont and didnt test other options so far
( your deal using iron arrows and silver arrows in 1300hs seems like autotrolling )

You might need silver for Frostner, which is very useful weapon to fight goblins (also frost arrows are useful).

But you don't need a crafting base in the mountains! With proper logistics, by which I mean efficient use of teleports, carts and ship, you can easily haul silver to your base.

In our 2 player multi we have just finished a big mountain with 14 (yes, fourteen!) separate silver veins. It took us three silver runs - one short for basic items, second (long) for upgrades, third short for silver to craft 2 Frostners.

Just use portals to get there, rest and repair pickaxes, then haul silver in the cart to your ship. Simple as that.

There may be an item or two you might want to craft/upgrade later (Frostner maybe?...haven't played in a while and don't remember the recipe).
Hard to say what the future updates may bring...I'd stockpile a bit at the very least but probably wouldn't invest too much in a base...nor would I would I disassemble what you've got either. You never know.
