Very dumb that there is no pause option in singleplayer

Yep that's my biggest complaint about logging out as a cheap substitute for pause. Did you prepare everything for your first fight vs Bonemass? Got your poison resistance, max rested status, Eikthyr buff up - and then as you jump into combat your grandmother calls from the hospital? Too bad. You can either run back to base and/or wait for timers etc then use up another resist mead, or fight without them, or shut down your PC and visit your gramdmother because she really wants to be with her family right now.

Yeah from what I can tell, all buffs (including comfort, meads, and such) pretty much go away when you try to log back on. I think this was meant as a way to make it so people cant just log out when the going gets tuff, heal up in another server, then come back with no consequences (Still can be done of course, but youd be wasting your buffs).

The food thing is new to me tho, since Ive had plenty of times where I would get some sausages I forgot from my old server and use them, go to my new server and they still lasting as long as normally.

I've been watching for the logout effect on meat, neck tails, carrots, mushrooms and berries but have seen no change. I just started making carrot soup but haven't focused on it at this time.

Unless you want to potentially die, yes.

You can Log Out to character select screen and reload when you are ready.
And YES a pause would be great. It has been covered 100 jillion times already though...

We might get a pause some day, but for now the only way is to log out, use the task manager, or use a mod.

Valheim does not have a "pause"

I hadn't noticed that before (I'm low level without specialty foods). Something to check out.

I agree that a traditional, no-mod Pause for single player would be welcome.

If you don't wanna log out just to take a quick bathroom visit and not wanna be surprised with a sudden case of death do the following.
1- Activate console commands in the steam valheim launch options with... -console i believe?
2- open the console commands with F5 ingame and type in the following
3- devcommands
4- debugmode
5- exit the console commands and press the Z button

There you go, enemies will not notice you as you are in flight mode. When back, press the Z button again to disable it. This is the easiest way without mods.

There is a nice little mod that turns esc into a pause button. A must have for me.
