is moder supposed to be really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring
melee does less damage than ranged, and i have a level 2 frostner. i looked at guides, and it says to use bows. the entire boss fight is just waiting for your stamina bar, which takes longer because you have to dodge attacks. and while you are waiting the boss regenerates 50% of their health. and stamina potions only refill your stamina, not give any cool stamina buffs. thank god for this amazing game design.

i beat the boss with the fang spear but it still didnt do much damage. was still more engaging than hitting it with the arrows and waiting for your stamina to recharge. instead i had a staring contest with the drake while my stamina bar was recharging, and i just parry their attacks like a chadthis game is so hardcore even the boss has to wait for their stamina to regen

Yeah as was mentioned earlier, Frostner is probably the worst weapon to use against Moder, a bronze axe would be more effective. Obsidian arrows and silver sword works well, even with the spirit immunity.

What damage does a fully upgraded Wolf Fang Spear do? Lots of Pierce. (don't throw it)
They just lowered stamina drain on all weapons so this is probably more viable.

I just killed Moder for the first time last night without knowing anything about the fight. I used a Fang Spear and basic food, cooked boar, wolf, and deer meat, along with the stamina buff.
I've found the game much easier since the H&H update.

Yeah, they borked up stamina with the H&H patch. They're still fixing it... perhaps the most recent patch finally repaired the damage they did in H&H.

can you harpoon it? That should be .. more exciting?not anymore. Back around May the devs decided being able to tow bosses around to where you wanted them was too OP and made all bosses immune to the harpoon. :(

tasty mead, if you fill your inventory with it you should last at least half of the fight. Then she'll tell all your friends that you couldn't last. If nothing else the amount of mead should give you a painless death 
Poison works. Just thank the gods there isn't anything good that you unlock from the most tedious of bosses in the game.. oh wait
also ya, frost against frost drake boss isn't great

Frostner is next to useless against Moder. She is resistent to both frost and bludgeon damge and flate immune to spirit damage.

took me less than 10 minutes to finish her with a wolf spear or a black metal sword when I killed her a second time. Having a Stagebreaker handy helped too since the AOE from it shatters the icicles from her breath weapon.
However, since that was pre H&H so the stamina was not as much of an issue as it is now.
