Cultivation seems to have gotten a kind of weird change, and rocky surfaces can't be cultivated anymore (neither for grass planting surfaces - a few annoying spots even popped up my my early access launch world meadow base). This applies to all biomes, but is especially noticeable in the Mistlands, which has a lot of those.

That said, there are stretches of grassy lands in the Mistlands - if you intend to build a Mistland Farm for the Mushrooms, that's where you can cultivate the ground and grow them.

tried mining out a cave for em but they need an open sky to grow, i just built a stone wall around them in the mistlands

I haven't found a place that I can cultivate in the Mistlands.
BUT someone in thread yesterday mentioned planting
them on the edge between Black Forest and Mistlands...

that works: cultivate along the edge and plant them on the
dividing line. One mushroom makes 3. No seeds.

I think there must be some better way though...

Well, mushrooms like the dark. Maybe you have to build a darkroom.

(I'm waiting for proper release so I have no idea just to be clear...also, I'm high).

Actually, maybe one of you could tell me if there are new Mistlands items that you aren't able to teleport...or will everything pass through? I heard there was no new ore type...
