When you say undiscovered mountains, how far were they from your existing map exploration? I believe there's a 500m radius around the places you've actually been that will still be locked into the old worldgen if you're not using tools like Upgrade World.

Definitely bigger then Troll Caves. I'd say more so then the other two crypts as well - at least judging by the one I've got.

I just used the Valheim world generator and found a spawn near a kinda small mountain. Explored it and found a frost cave giving 31 fenris hair, 8 claws, 15 jute and other stuff.

I'll probably just recreate that world and farm that dungeon for a bit while using another world for repairs / food.

If you're gonna cheat anyway, why not go more of the way? Just spawn a forge and workbench right there.

I still had to explore the mountain to find the cave (it just showed the terrain) and this is with an old character from quite some time ago so I don't feel the incentive to run around looking for multiple caves in a world.

I'm fine with world hopping for gathering resources. I don't see myself going full superman with cheats lol.

I guess I get it, sort of, it's a rather slippery slope once you start. :p Was just curious why you drew the line at cheating just sorta halfway.

I have a lot of characters and a lot of worlds with 651 hours in this game. As I'm just messing around in single player I don't mind making things a bit easier. If I were to join a new multiplayer game I'd go without exploits.

Me and my friend found 5 caves they were usually at the very top Guarded by Golems

If I'm not wrong, "undiscovered" mountains have to be places you never saw before, that is, you never saw trees rendered on their ground from afar at max rendition distance (in technical terms, sectors that never were generated from the seed in memory). Perhaps, this excludes some of these areas you thought "undiscovered"?.

no. I took my boat out for a ride and went places I've never been before...
I get what you're implying but that wasn't the case

It took me 7 mountains before i found a cave. Small ones are not spawning them for sure.

You have to look for realy big mountains and they only spawn very high.

You must be above the Obsidian line in altitude

I went into debugmode flying around when I couldn't find one within an hour. Found one on the fourth mountain I went to, couldn't find any on partially explored mountains before then. They're hard to spot on top of it all...

I recommend cheating a bit if you really can't find any quickly enough.
