Mistlands is NOT FUN
I'm sure there are a million other threads on here but I just need to rant... The Mistlands are NOT ENJOYABLE!
They are very rough, the fog is BS, and don't even get me started on the dverger..
My very first trip to the Mistlands we found a dverger dock and explored it a little.. A seeker attacked us so we fought back and accidentally destroyed some of the dock/outpost and the dverger attacked us...
NOW WE CAN'T EVEN GET OUR STUFF BACK!! Even with potions and forbidden powers, we can't stand up to a dverger fireball [we die INSTANTLY!]
Food was: Blood Pudding, Fish Wrap, Lox Pie
While it's not hard remaking the items lost, it is extremely tedious and gathering items we lost [such as weapons, pickaxes - which were made from Yggradsil wood] as well as iron that was mined, serpent meat gathered, potions, food, etc..
I was enjoying the game and was excited for the update.. now I just want to throw the game away
/end rant.

Hey man, thanks for the great advice. We are going to try this. The hare's are super fast [worse than deer] but I get sneaking/distance is the best way to get at them..
We found Ygg. wood but unfortunately lost that and the pickaxe we made from it to the dverger death that I was ranting about..... we found the extractor completely by accident and have/had no idea what it is [no spoilers please]
Right now we keep finding those cliffs and no solid land, is that normal? Thanks again!

Common complaint, refer to other threads for responses. Just like any other biome, gets a lot of complaints at first till you figure it out, then you realize it's not a big deal once you overcome the initial difficulty. Good luck.

Get those resources and make the new Pickaxe, and the new foods (Meat Platter, Misthare Supreme) and come back with around 30 more HP and the better pickaxe. Then you can look into getting the 5 black cores you need for the Black Forge. This will allow you to build Kromm and the Arbalest. Both of these weapons should allow you to instantly kill a Dvergr with a sneak attack, but pick your battle wisely. Ideally you should be looking for a Dvergr Dock with a Dvergr Component inside. Normally there's only 1 or 2 Dwarves there, Sneak Attack instakill the Mage (If present).
You could also use Pufferfish cheese.
To Sneak attack kill a Dvergr, just get behind him and do the middle mouse button secondary attack. It's triple damage, and Kromm already hits like a truck, strapped to a tank, delivered by a W-8 Thermonuclear warhead.

There is solid ground, but you are safer mountain-goating up the rocks. You will avoid soldiers that way. I would recommend the same thing I always say for the swamps: Look for an island that has other biomes neaar by so you can walk in. Plains next to mistlands are ideal, for a practical reason. Mountains are second best because they offer the high views.

And here I'm playing Valheim the third time with mods like the link, even deactivating the default settings and increasing manually to 100% more health and 50% more damage per star, up to 5 stars. Also the bosses can have stars with 10% more damage and 20% more health

They've already done that twice now. There's no need for a fourth (public) pass.

I can definitely understand people's frustration with Mistlands. But after hitting a certain benchmark, I love them.
I love the mist. I love the storms. I love the Gjall. I love the Seekers. I love the mines. I love the Devergr.
When I first arrived, I would have cursed the devs up and down when I was deep in the mistlands and a 1 star seeker hit me with a death from above attack resulting in a THREE HOUR rescue mission -- during which I died 3 more times :-(, two of which without skill drain :(:(:(:( .
But I said to myself: "You're going to find those effing mines. You're going to unlock the Mistland's secrets" and I pushed on. I pushed, and I pushed until I finally found it..
I highly recommend making your first push into the Mistlands from a connected Plains or Black Forest biome. Set up an outpost right on the edge so you have a somewhat safe place to operate from. Then focus on gathering wisps and Yggdrasil wood. With enough time and patience, you can clear the mist (and spawns) from entire regions of Mistlands.
Mistlands is hard and it sucks, just like every new / first-time entrance into a biome. The Mistlands itself is like a boss. Beat it. Tame it. Show it who the true master of Valheim really is.
Oh, and if you're having trouble with Devergr, remember, they tend to stay in the same place. Arm yourself with Fenris > Piss off a Gjall > Introduce that Gjall to those Devergr. Use the Mistlands against them.

They seem to be pretty overtuned for sure. How about using the arbalest in tandem for combined sneak attack + stagger damage?
Edit: It probably won't be an option for an aggressive dvergr, but with Skoll and Hati you can potentially deal over a thousand damage by backstabbing with the secondary jump attack. Might be something to keep in mind in case you need to, eh, "liberate" any dvergr possessions. 2* dvergr have just over 1000 HP but if you have high knives skill, it should be doable. Arbalest won't be able to do the same.

The Dvergr are very dangerous intentionally, but to be honest, it's a skill issue on your part. You need to use the Fire Wine + Bonemass if you want to take on fire mages head on. The ice mages are considerably more dangerous.
Remember that Fire Damage is a two-part damage calculation, it consists of a Blunt damage component (Bonemass power mitigation) and Fire damage component (Fire Wine or Yagluth power)
Ice is a bit different, It can be straight ice damage, but it can also have a heavy piercing component like Moder's ice spikes. But even with a resist, you get slowed which is the most dangerous component of ice damage anyway.
I stand by the notion that all the complains about mistlands are personal skill issues, and this new thread does nothing to assuage that.
