Worth Getting Into?
Hi, ive been following the game for a few months now but didn't have a gaming laptop,i now have a great Laptop but is it to late. The game reminds me of old EQ a bit, just the look of it i suppose.
I know it's not an mmo but it looks like a decent game.
thx.

i completely disagree. i would get it now before they update it so its harder.I'd wait until next year to try this game. Ok,im going to buy it then, i just got refund for New World and i'm bored so great.
Thx.
id kill the first two bosses, get gear, wait for an update so you have gear sooner rather than later.

Having a friend or two is a must. Going solo is quite the grind.

Seconding the warning about grinding...a lot of the features in the game seem to be designed around stretching the small amount of actual content. Resource costs, warp restrictions, chest size, etc. The good news is the game has a good mod community, so you can tweak as you see fit. The game is definitely a solid canvas to build on, but I do think QOL mods go a long way to help.

Did they change the ability to port in and out of different games with the same character? Cause the game already had a convenient way to bypass a lot of that time wasting (as well as all the crying about porting ores) from day one. It can be a fun game, but its EXTREMELY grindy, and takes like two dozen mods to mod all the annoying time wasting BS out.
The fact that i need 15 metal bars on average, to make equipment, and they only stack to 30, it takes about an hour to gather a stack, and weight 50% of your encumberance limit, just to make one weapon, is frankly ridiculous.
You need HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of these bars, and they weigh a huge amount, they cannot be teleported, so you have to manually carry all of these heavy pieces of ♥♥♥♥ from one location to another, just to be able to make one weapon, its ludicrous.

Well, technically they joined however many others in starting a new game with potentially hundreds of hours of things to do. I see you bought it already, but I would have advised waiting for more content. You've now joined tens of thousands of others that are starving for content and updates. This game updates incredibly, incredibly slow.
I'm with you on the content once you get to that point tho. I have hardly played at all in a few months after beating the last boss. Building can be fun, but games like this rarely have any real functional use for large or elaborate structures, and I get bored just building things to look at them.

If you enjoy survival style games, this is a bloody highlight. Not only does this game have resource gathering/management but also a rarity in the genre, a sense of progression.

If you like survival and realism/complexity are not the main draws to that genre for you, then I can't recommend this game enough. One of the best for sure.

Just don't rush things. Move ahead at a steady pace and always prepare for reverses. It's a game that rewards meticulous play rather than recklessness.
