Another month or two.....
Okay, I love this game, have been playing it since it's release into EA and adore this game; but the fact that it's gone from a month to two months for small updates to now three to six months for a small updates for the pc users to have the new stuff.....I know I'm not the only one noticed that the updates have slowed to a snails pace compared to before. I was completely fine with the updates before, they fixed things and added little things; now it's been I don't even know how long since we had a major update, let alone any content for pc users compared to before because the xbox launch happened. That shouldn't have happened until the games completion.....just finish the game......thats all the players want.....

You have people with a vision and passion behind this project. Executing that vision to perfection takes time.

hmmm.. maybe we should ask the devs to rush this great game. who knows, maybe if they rush it fast enough we can have Valheim 2077.

Hmm. Better than having Valheim 1.0 in the year 2077. maybe if they rush it fast enough we can have Valheim 2077.

Personally, I prefer fewer, larger updates for two reasons:
1. Fewer incremental updates over longer periods of time mean there's less propensity for my mods breaking due to multiple updates in a short period of time. I get to play my modded game for longer as a result before being made to wait for mod developers to update their mods to function with base game updates (if they do at all).
2. A longer window of time between updates give the devs more time to QA the next update so it releases in a relatively stable state, requiring fewer bug-fixes or balance changes. The updates we end up getting then end up being higher quality, as opposed to numerous smaller, buggier updates all the time. I'd rather wait for polished updates than get tons of jankier updates more frequently.
If you're hurting for new content, consider mods in the meantime (see point 1). There's some pretty impressive stuff out there that can quite significantly change your experience, if that's what you're looking for.

Try playing The Sims these days. Small update recently KILLED the game for all users. Most people who have that game have spent literal thousands of dollars on it.
This is your gentle reminder that buying into an EA game is not pre-purchasing a finished game. The Steam FAQs make this very clear. You bought the game in it's current state at the time you bought it. What you paid goes towards it's development and it IS being developed.

Game's had pretty consistent updates. I enjoy it, and I die inside when I have to wait a year for the next big title update.
But ultimately that's a pretty regular schedule for a small indie studio, I mean hell, some EA games are lucky to get 1 update a year, patch or content either or.
Ultimately, the game's $20 and has enough content I'd say to justify it, I want more, definitely, but I'll play other games until the next title update or I just can't stand to abstain anymore.

Agreed, except I started playing a couple months after EA release. Been playing since it came out and still playing. The Devs can take all the time in the world to finish as far as I'm concerned. I've more than gotten my moneys worth and am still having a blast exploring worlds.

This game has never had fast updates. This is the normal, historical pace.

If you don't want to play the game in its current state play something else, a good functioning update takes time, i'd rather have that than some half baked update littered with bugs like almost every AAA game these days.

They are keeping us better informed than before. But sure all ahead full speed where possible.
Also as its a cheaper game and the updates (so far) are all free I can't say it bothers me that their slower than i'd call ideal

It is not a MMORPG, it is a game that needs to be finished. Devs are not bound to add "content" every 2 months, let only every 6 months. They are supposed to finish the game in a reasonable time laps, and if this means in 2 years, that well might mean in 2 years without intermediate update.
Now, that's on your playstyle. Either you go play another game until next content update, or you keep on having fun exploring, exploiting, building, fighting... For you do have fun in those doings, don't you?

Last major update: 16/12/2022.
Last content update: 07/02/2023.
And now it's "26/4/2023" with no content update for another "Month or two". My point is made.
