Strange FPS

Whenever I have normal camera view my FPS seem fixed at 71.5-72. Tested in two bases, one with 14k instances and another with 4k. Same result.

If I get an angle where my character don't show, FPS skyrocket. Effectively the less of my character that is on screen the higher the FPS.

This is baffling. Why is the character cutting my FPS in half?

vsync on 144hz. aa on, soft particles on, tesselation on. rest is off.

Man, I really want answer to this. Why is my FPS cut exactly in half just because character is in view?
