Password-protected server?

I would never ever ever ever ever play a game like this with randoms. Just no.

And even if I did decide to start a server and play with other people, I'd still take a snapshot every day just to have something to roll back to in case something like this happens.

it was a dedicated server so yes all the servers on valheim btw have password

Developers don't have access to servers, they are all player hosted.
talk to the one who rented the server.
but i got no idea if there are logs of the event, i don't know anything about that part.
also shouldn't join servers that post open access passwords if that's the case. that's inviting troll attacks.

well thats the problem, the guy who rented the server is the one that was my friend that now thinks i have betrayed him. so now he doesnt want to talk with me, at least he blocked me

then you have to talk to them. or record your playthroughs.

If your 'friend' is blaming you without actual evidence to support that belief, than he was never a real friend in the first place. Just mho.

well at least he was my steam friend

it just would be better if the person that rented the server has access to the player log so he can find out who messed things up, but we tried to find this out, but we could not find such a file because for dedicated servers the files directories are different

such a log could prove my innocense in this case, because now i am getting a heavy blame

make new steam friends
if they badmouthing you on your profile. report the message to steam then delete it.
you have control over what's posted on your profile.

Sad news here..Hey I dont know ♥♥♥♥♥ about Dedicated Servers but can they be backed up? by the host /admin.. and yes there should be somewhere logs of whos online etc...
On a seperate thought though ..Clearly though it appears a malicious Party has accessed the server and is achieving their goal of spreading Chaos.. backups, logs access/user rights these are the common tools Online Servers need.. perhaps worthy of logging a ticket to have Ded Server Logs in the future Full release at very least

Lawyer words to say that idiots online can screw up your happy place. At some point, if they have the keys to the kingdom, it can happen. I can't see how if you have 3 people, A,B, and C where you are A, how can C be mad at A if B did something? This implies that C is unreasonable and not much of a friend? I can't imagine being mad at someone because someone else is a jerk.

I agree there should be logs to see who did what -- every item created in the world or stored in a chest should be marked with the ID of the person who created it or stored it. And every time an item is destroyed or taken by someone with a different ID, it should be logged. Terrain editing that that results in destruction of other players' things logged as well. Sounds like maybe also boss kills & trophy hanging logged. Not sure what else.

And we may get that at release, but its not there now :(
all you can do is make frequent backups and try to figure it out.
