Necks; The Real Trolls of the game
OK...So I was melting some ore when I heard a loud crack coming from by boats...so I thought I just left them too close and they were crashing against each other because of the waves.
Then I heard a even louder crack...almost like an explosion and I thought (WTF? Did they add some kind of new mob to the game or something?) and ran to see what was the noise coming from my deck...I got there and it was a freaking 2 stars purple neck...swimming and trying to sink my boat! and thats not all....when the little S*** saw me it tried to flee swimming away! I got him with the bow tho.
BEWARE of the sneaky Hit / Run Necks attacking your boats!

The mobs' desperate need to attack your ships, and the lengths they will go to in order to do so are a little ridiculous.+1

you can hold a torch to stop neck or boar from attacking, they will still run around and chase you, but not attack
when building a dock, you need to enclose it completely, walls above and below water and doors at entrance to stop mobs from finding their way in
Boars cant reach them...but the damn necks can swim really far from the shore and somehow attack your boats in deep waters.

At first I used a torch at each end of the boat (on the shore) to scare the little wankers off... then I started disassembling my boats and packing them into chests when they're not in use.

Yeah...I will have to do the same...pack them into chests when im not using because it seems i builT my deck near their nest because no matter how many I kill they just keep coming.

I build an enclosed harbor with towers at entry, far into the water. They still managed to swim around, get in and smack my boat up.
