how do you parry? also is there a button to split stacks in inventory? and is there a way to select what you want to repair instead of having to repair all?

It's just slow as a crude basic raft not meant for ocean travel. First speed is paddle, same with reverse, 2nd and 3rd are sailing but with sailing you can't go into the greyed out zone against the wind. is there a way to make the raft go faster? a key i have to press or something? it seems really slow lol
The next boat, the Karve, goes much faster and has 4 storage slots. You'll need fine wood for it and bronze nails.

You raise the sails by pressing W while the wind's blowing the direction you want to go.

The game likes to spawn things outside your line of sight too, so islands have the advantage of limited, therefore predictable spawn points outside.

Hold 'em off long enough and they'll leave!
And you won't be the only one who's felt immense gratitude at that point

Don't forget that the larger shields block but do not grant a parry like the round shields.

Yes. My main base is on an island and raid free. You just have to have no-spawn items spaced out to cover everything. I get warnings but nothing can spawn in. (basically usable objects like fires and workbenches and furnaces and torches and such, stuff you can interact with, create a 20m no spawn zone around them)

Parrying an attack to gain a parry bonus is obtained by timing your block just before it hits. how do you parry?
The parry bonus can provide a knockback and stun, as well as making the victim of a successful parry more vulnerable to attack and take more damage for the duration of the stun. This depends also on the parry bonus the blocking weapon/shield applies.

Open inventory and shift left click also is there a button to split stacks in inventory?
https://screenrant.com/split-stacks-resources-inventory-storage-valheim/
If repairing tools and weapons, then each has to be repaired individually at the relevant level of workbench. and is there a way to select what you want to repair instead of having to repair all?
If repairing buildings and structures, then each part has to be repaired individually but it is easy to see which are in need of repair while you have your build hammer equipped (with the required materials) and in repair mode.
I hope that helps ;)

you block (right click) right before the npc attacks you, not earlier u gotta time it to be on same time pretty much, practice it on greydwarves first.
and simply shift click your stacks to split
