Hanging Boss Trophies

Does anyone still do this? The buffs never seemed worth it in comparison to the difficulty jump in the raids/wandering mobs.

Bonemass’s power is by far the best in the game, literally 5 min of near invincibility.

If you really care about baby easy enemies spawning at night, the 3 forsaken powers that you’ll really need are eikthyr, bonemass and moder (nothing extra spawns at night with the moder trophy so you might as well use it). I’d consider placing the trophies regardless since once you beat the respective boss, the monsters they spawn at night are fairly easy to kill (also I’m fairly certain they are forced to be 0 star as well, at least the fulings are), and given that it’s pretty trivial just to skip the night through sleeping, there’s very little actual game impact they have (fuling spawns are super useful for farming blackmetal near your base too)

Interesting. The instant I hear the rumble from the abomination I charge it as fast as I can and start beating it. It's defenseless and harmless while it's coming out of the ground - why not get in free hits? It's usually pretty harmed itself by the time it's all the way out of the ground.

The Eikthyr and Bonemass powers can be literal lifesavers, and are extremely useful in general.

I'm currently in the bronze age, exploring any Swamp I find. The Eikthyr power is amazing against abominations, because I prefer to fight them with fire arrows (especially now that I have acquired full root armour) and that requires me to stay at a distance.

The Bonemass power is amazing for fighting stone golems.

I can not imagine not hanging them in the Spawn Circle. If you want to hang them as Trophy Mounts in your Castle, then it is a matter of killing them twice.

If you're playing with a buddy, one can have the Eikthyr power, the other Bonemass, if you are close enough and both press F, you can each have both powers applied in tandem. Makes a huge difference if you are trying to out run a wolf mob.

Yes.

Most players sacrifice soon after the boss kill, and assume the sacrifice enabled the related event. A wiki had incorrect information too. Nope.

It is possible to bring boss items and sacrifice on a fresh world. The powers can be selected. The bosses on that world are not killed yet, the keys remain unset.

I reckon it is like that to prevent griefing.

The horde is attacking event also happens while in a plains base before killing yagluth.

I know because I just had it and I never did the 5th boss.

Exactly, events are triggered based on what boss you've beaten. Not the trophies hanging from spawn circle. OP is just shooting himself in the foot by not taking advantage of boss powers.

The most valuable buff (in my point of view) is the first one. Since it helps in grave situation. You dont want to die in this game, do not want at all. Not because of item loss - its all about experience. And first buff from deer boss gives you a chance to survive.

And yes, hanging trophies does not trigger events. You do so when you kill bosses.

P.S. Just dont kill the last boss. He does not drop key item atm (so you ll need to kill him again when new content released) and his death triggers "The Horde is attacking" event.

Uh...what? Try fleeing a mob of enemies when you're low on health and stamina. Odds are, you're gonna die.
Now, try it again with Eikthyr's power activated. It decreases the stamina cost of running and jumping. Given that, you're most likely gonna escape and live to fight another day.
Elder's power is very useful when you've got a tree farm going and want to chop them all down quickly.
Bonemass' power provides resistance to blunt, slash, and pierce damage. 50-75% depending on your armor. Who doesn't want to take less damage while you're carving up a Fuling village?
Moder's power gives you a tailwind while sailing. I don't even need to explain how useful that can be.
Yagluth's power provides resistance to fire, frost and lightning. Since Yagluth is the last boss, there's not much use for it now until the Mistlands and new bosses are added. That is, unless, you take your character to another world to help a friend.
As for the difficulty jump in events, it's not THAT difficult if you have a decently defended base, upgraded gear for your tier, and proper food items to keep your hp/stam high.
It sounds to me like you aren't upgrading your gear as you climb tiers and don't have the best foods for your game stage.
The wiki has quite a bit of info to help you cook the best foods for each game stage (Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, etc.) so that you aren't getting one or two shotted by event enemies.

Ummmm...yeah, as DarkEternal put it, what?! Eikthyr is so damned good for lengthy foot travel and Bonemass is just absurdly excellent.

Perhaps he is referring to hanging them in a world that he does not spend most of his time in, leaving the higher level raids there instead of in the world he mostly inhabits. He still gets the buffs, he just has to go there to change them, IIRC.
