Except for the shaman and brutes they are afraid of fire. If you run low on stamina just light a torch and they'll run from you. When they throw a rock just take a step to the side and they'll miss.

Dont cut trees at night early game, especially in the Black Forest.

However, having your living base in the Black forest at the oceans edge REALLY helps for raids. Greys are the perfect fodder for everything except "The Forest is Moving"

Sit back and watch the fireworks. when the raid ends, collect all the free loots

Those star-greydwarves come from a nearby spawner. Always explore the whole area before doing anything less silent than collecting respawnable resource (branches, rocks, plants, mushrooms).

Run for your life if there is a star-brute.

It was always that way.. Make noise in the forest and you'll have them at your heels en masse. More if there are ruins or spawners close or when it is night... once you are properly equipped and fed you can dispatch them very quickly.

Sometimes the seem to spawn faster. Other times it seems they go away for longer periods...
