Every game I've played in the past years have had much better mod quality outside of the workshop. Workshop might win ease of use, but Vortex is not mind bending either.

I normally am not a fan of mods but recently as I have started playing games like X Rebirth, X3 Terrian conflict, X Foundations, Space Engineers, Empyrion I have come to like QOL mods and being able to load/build other peoples creations. The workshop adds value to the game in my opinion.

No STEAM workshop, but you can still find piles of mods at Nexus. The game is much better with mods. You should check into it.

That's a real shame. Any game can only benefit from mods.
On my dedicated server, I run about 22 mods.
Everything from a filled in Mistlands, Ashlands and Deep North to simple QoL things.
I'd have to say, Epic Loot might be one of my favorites.

Well the game probably has close to 2 years of estimated development still before it's considered released. So there's always time to change their mind, add alternative modes, etc.

Oh wow has that been officially announced? I knew they were working on finishing the game first, but thought I saw somewhere that we'd probably get workshop support later. That's disappointing if its never going to happen.
