I think fish respawn rate is better now.
Started a new seed with a mate & we built a new longhouse on it, high up on a hill. Anyway, west of that, and down a large hill there is a decent size pond loaded with fish.
I thought I fished it out of stock, turned around for 2 minutes to kill some necks, & the fish respawned? Did the respawn rate increase at some point? (I don't mind the extra fish, just wondering is all) It was mostly filled with Perch & Pike.

A rune stone explaining too you that you can tame boar. Usually accompanied by said boar. They don't respawn if you kill them, though.

2 in-game days later, 36 fish all up (all perch & pike though, so 1 or 2 pieces per catch) also set up a small pier to catch them off, the centre of the pond is deceptively deeper than it actually looks. Try the seed, for real, not a bad starter seed.

Sure the seed is QEM26YwG
The pond itself is about 3 or 4 min short jog NNE (1 o'clock) on the map from the starting stones. Also there is quite a few boar stones along the way, and nearby.

Oh, also when your almost to the pond, there is a big field with 2 Oak trees in it, can't miss it, the pond is down the hill, along the tree line.

Oh p.s, there is one of the boar stones, literally at the pond, too. We found a 2 star off the bat, so captured it & tamed it. 2 decent food sources for early game, both right next to each other, along with unlimited fish.
