Worth coming back to after new patch?
Had my own server, and played religiously with my cousin like 6 months back or so. Ended up beating the game back then. Wanted to know if it is worth coming back yet and doing another play through.

I guess I should clarify, with Hearth and Home, it looks like everything that was added is just aesthetic stuff mainly. Nothing that really adds anything of value to the game but maybe a new plains enemy. If there really isn't anything new yet I will probably wait until the next major patch to jump back in.

if u like building and looks of the cooking system, yes.
nothing new new. this was more of a foundation update/patch.
getting out all the bugs/kinkes of the combat of the game/how food effect players. the boost to performance, so u can play on lower specs/get higher specs.

I loaded it up and looked around. Not much gameplay-wise changed. See you next patch.

I do love building. That was what I was doing half of the time I was playing. Had a main base in the Dark Forest and like 10 outposts that I would spend a day or so building up and making them look aesthetically awesome. Loved exploring and finding new and interesting things in the world. But a few new items to add to my building really isn't worth starting up a new game yet. I'll wait until new lands and new boss is added before I come back and dip another 100+ hours into the game.

Ridable and breedable loxes is one of the best things this patch added, also naming all your pets.

Best to just log in, farm some tar, build a roof, then log out again.

In my personal opinion, considering how little this patch was and it was added on their roadmap, it doesn't make me hopeful for the future.
Roadmap items are generally BIG updates with a lot of content. A single modder could of added what they did and listening to their fire-side chat, it looks like they are in no hurry to be busy bee's. They like their low and quiet lifestyle.
So if this game gets any major over-hauls, its going to be from the modding community and not likely the developers. Sad to say. They could prove me wrong, but they seem to have what they wanted from the game, even already making excuses as its not a "game for everyone".
Everyone already knows not everything is made for them, but it just seems like a excuse not to put out content now that they have their millions.
So my answer is: No. You'll get some extra building items you'll have to grind for, but thats about it. And the new enemy isn't really that interesting or fun to fight more than any other mob in this game.
I know i'm personally disappointed in how little was here and how big they kind of hyped it up to be.
Thats just my 2 cents.
Also, if you love to just build in this game, since that is really all there is to do, there is ways to enter creative mode and you won't have to spend countless hours grinding, you can just free-build.

Only took 7 months to deliver a weeks worth of code and graphic content. Its mostly just all rehashed stuff that's in the game already. Honestly pretty disappointed this is all we got with them abandoning the road map.

Wait, when did they abandon it? I know their schedule might be off, but have they said they are not going to do what they promised to do? Or am I missing something?

I honestly don't see the point of playing this game anymore until they have completed it.
If you do a lot of exploring only the areas you haven't explored will spawn any new content of an Update.
So you have to create a new World if you want to experience the new content which means all the time you spent before is more or less wasted.
I'm personally shelving this game until it's 100% complete and Released.
