With caves added , found the boss stone is freaking easy because there is one almost in every cave
Before in few mountain ruins with luck

Random is random. Sometimes it works great, sometimes you have to wander across half the world to find things.

The stone tower POIs are easy to see at long distance and can have modor location runes.

The mechanic to find boss locations is the runestones you find around the world as you explore. The runestones for moder location can be found inside stone towers on mountains.

I've never had any issue finding those, in my experience it always happens long before I need to kill moder.

It isnt an issue of "fixed" it is simply that different maps(as you can randomly load and see) have intentional differences for different variables and challenges. For those that want all bosses on 1 continent/linked islands, there are lots of maps out there.

So it is better to say your wants aren't entirely matched unless you want to make it so by seaching out those all boss maps(though for eggs or yagluth's totems you still may need to head to other islands for them to bring back to the main so keep that in mind). But you need to come to terms with the fact that that is intentionally how its designed and roll with it or figure something else out.

Part of the charm of the game is the RNG. Both the dragon boss and the boss after took me a good amount of time to explore and eventually find them. Is it easier now? I don't believe it is, unless there actually was a bug that prevented them spawning in your world. 5-6 mountains isn't all that much. You might have more trouble finding the the 5th boss, unless you get lucky.

It really depends on the RNG. I now have a world where there are very few burial chambers with very few cores inside on spawn island. I started with 7 (!) Cores in the Black Forest - that means I had to first make coal, demolish the furnace and then make bronze and demolish the furnace again for more coal. The Elder is also relatively far from the first continent - I have 2 positions and both require a long voyage over the ocean. However, I already have troll armor and the necessary bronze stuff. I haven't died yet, I haven't looked at the world generator and I haven't used the devcon - I don't want to ruin the experience.

RNG is still RNG. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.

So your second question of whether there was some mechanic to enable you to find what you're looking for was answered.

Added: I do vaguely recall that there was a bug a long time ago about Moder not spawning on the map. That bug has been fixed in case you got hit with that one.
