You only want to play with people you know and can trust. Any servers with public info just get hit with griefers who troll the server with mods that allow them to spawn in anything and shortly crash the server and make it unrecoverable without a wipe.
and any friends you play with you have to trust enough that you don't have to worry about them cheating by bringing in stuff from other worlds and so forth.
its not make for public multiplayer but co-op with friends.
