Did they remove weapon skillups from beating rocks?
Spent 30 mins googling furiously with no mention of this
I guess we can still enable pvp and spar each other for weapon training? what do I do in my solo play world?
in b4 open console and set weapon skills to 100

if hitting rocks is so stupid and you dont do it, then why aren't I allowed to do it because I want to?

Haven't checked the game yet but it wouldn't surprise me if they did remove it tho I don't understand why they would.
The cost is stamina and weapon durability and beating on an inanimate object would IMHO draw parallel to using a training dummy IRL.
As far as the "It's cheating~" angle, that hits me like the good oll bad days of Minecraft where people would semi regularly throw fits about people being able to make houses out of dirt. Demaning Mojang nerf dirt houses because those people weren't playing the game right.

Man, i hope so. Skill ups from smacking a rock is ridiculous.
What you do in solo is PLAY THE GAME. Don't worry about your skill level. Just go do things, and try not to die. It'll increase.

But you can still jump in place, or run in place, or swim in circles
i'm supposed to spend hours and hours running in circles beating up greydwarves or something to get 5 pts of weapon skill back if i die?

No. Just play. Go exploring. Fight whatever you find. Don't worry about being at 50 or 51 skill, get out there and do fun stuff.

They added plenty of things, and I don't think hitting rocks to skill up combat skills is something that should have been possible anyway.

While hitting a rock over and over isn't good gameplay I don't get why it wouldn't increase your combat skill. It isn't much different from using a training dummy or just practicing swings in the air.

Because rocks don't hit back. Unless you're in the mountains, then some of the rocks do hit back.

Why would you spend your time hitting rocks?
You can go out and hit actual enemies and get skills plus loot out of it, and actual combat experience.
It's absolutely no surprise the people who spend all their time hitting rocks tend to die constantly, because of the lack of actual combat experience.
It's like thinking hitting a punching bag makes your ready for a MMA tournament.

Exactly. You get more skill XP from enemies and actually learn how to fight properly, too. Plus you get loot. Plus it's more fun.

Why would you spend your time hitting rocks?
Because they can build a room around a rock and set up an auto clicker and walk away to gain xp. There were videos about it from early on. Some people just like to cheat while pretending it's not cheating because they didn't open up the console.

Hit back? They're not suggesting to attack rocks/trees to improve the blocking skill. There are countless analogs in real combat training that improve skill using inanimate objects as targets. Go watch film of Bruce Lee on a wooden dummy. While hitting a rock over and over isn't good gameplay I don't get why it wouldn't increase your combat skill.
