Legacy Save?

Does anyone know what a legacy save is? Also how does having Steam-Cloudsave deactivated affect this process?

I was going to log into my singleplayer world, but don't want to damage my save file. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I tried playing a backed-up "pre-update" copy of my game so I could keep playing with some mods that the updated game broke, but the older copy doesn't load my world save due to the new cloud save update. I have NO idea what to do? Do any of you genius type guys know how to deal with this?

When they fixed the Steam Cloud saving issues they changed how and where the game was saved for both standalone and cloud saves.

They copy your existing save into the new save structure either locally or in the cloud depending on your settings. The display is then updated to reflect that.

The original copy of your save will still be on your system in the previous folder.

Thanks for the response.

So it's completely safe for me to load into my world without messing with any settings then?

What he said it true, i tested it. What you could do, and what i have done personally, is done both save to cloud as well as local. You just have play your game for a bit, then exit it, and it will upload to the steam cloud, then you hope on again, and in the character selection screen as well as world selection screen, there are buttons that say "move to local/cloud", put local, then exit the game. The game then creates a seperate folder for your character and your world. By doing this, it enables you to have a save via cloud, as the devs were wanting, but you also have a local save of your character and world...as a back up. I zip both my character and world each time i play so the local save is not messed with, and they match up with the cloud version. You just want to relaunch the game and then move the saves of your character and world again back to the steam cloud. Its a bit irritating to do all the steps, but this way you are sure to have a safe copy of your character and world, just in case steam cloud ever desycns again like it did....i lost a world that i had created. 200+hours. Never again i told myself. Hence why i save now via cloud AND by local, just for double safety.
