Stopping Events with Console
I was inspired to post an idea thread for an overhaul to the raid system I've been thinking about for a while after a play session where I was invaded 5 times in one night after months of no invasion events.
Recently I've been on a number of building projects and I've just been stopping invasion invents with the console command. Does anyone with any insight on how the events occur know if this causes them to occur more frequently? I have to imagine there's *some* kind of cooldown for events, though it certainly doesn't seem like it, and I have a feeling that ending them through console commands doesn't achieve the same effect as playing through it.

... while after a play session where I was invaded 5 times in one night after months of no invasion events. ...
This should not happen, Raids have a timer of 30mins (don't know exactly) , so if you have 5 raids in 8 mins you should not use the console-command for your purpose.
Console-commands are development tools, not game features!
I have not tested this issue but if it is true what you wrote the console-command seems to stop the raid but not resets the timer. ... I have a feeling that ending them through console commands doesn't achieve the same effect as playing through it.

You can use them as feature but they are no feature!
But it depends what the developer want them to be. There may be some developers that use such command as feature for the players but in general they are ment as development tools.
Please don't discuss about this here!

I like events. They are a break from the "chores" of base-building and maintenance.
...
How can you not like events? Do you really want to be uninterrupted when you're digging 14K of moat? :)
you want to avoid event entirely? use ghost command
If you want my opinion of events, read my Raid Event Overhaul topic. The only thing I want to know here is if stopping them increases their likelihood.

I like events. They are a break from the "chores" of base-building and maintenance.
If you have a good moat and or walls, you can ignore events entirely, or go to your archery platform(s) to plink attackers, as the mood takes you. If your defenses are not adequate you can kite the invaders away from anything you want to protect; the mobs will chase you and only destroy things you have built in an effort to get to you.
So if you don't want to deal with events, then as soon as you have an idea of the scale of the project—by laying out the foundations, say—build the defenses. A base without well thought-out defenses is not in the spirit of the game, after all.
You might enjoy planning the defenses first, based on the terrain. Put the moat through the valleys and take the highest hills you can, that sort of thing.
