Mined and stored a few stacks of silver in my longboat and discovered another mountain cave which also netted me a cultist trophy which i used to make the Fenris helm.
If i paired Root chest with Fenris helm, would this offset the fire issue while still giving me the pierce res?

You will only get the armor bonus from a full set, mixing and matching armors will not yield their respective bonuses.

That's a good question about combining fire resistance and vulnerability, do they cancel out or does one have more effect than the other?

Not far behind. But damn I have hard to find some inspiration to play more nowadays.
It's like going from being addicted Valheim gamer with 120h in 2 weeks to 20-25h nowadays.
Still have to fully upgrade the fenris armour and it's real nice.
Love to run with it and chase down every deer or any creature for that matter and slash it with the Freddy Krueger ish weapon.

I was getting there too but am now on an Epic Loot/Creature Level and Loot Control mod run and its been a lot of fun once I got the balance right. Unexpected deaths are great, haha! Cheers mate.
