I did the same, I wonder though, when/if they add more boss-biomes wont they have to add more altars to the starting area? That may not be too difficult since you cannot build in that area, so there wont be any conflict

depends on what you have explored from my understanding.
I had a lot of the map open so we started a new world a week ago and have not left the starting area.
But we will see on the 16th .
