Steam awards were rigged

Clearly the Steam awards were rigged and the biggest giveaway is when you look at game of the year. Resident evil has 46,000 positive reviews while Valheim has 278,000 positive reviews and Cyberpunk has 425,000 positive reviews, so how can a game that had the least amount of players and reviews possibly have gotten more votes then those 2 games as mentioned? I think they pick winners by which game they want to try and increase the sales of, that is the only thing that makes sense.

Do you honestly believe the players have ANY effect on the voting outcome? Of course it's to boost sales.

Resident Evil is bigger than you think. Cyberpunk a mess.. and valheim... while good it seems a lot of people are disappointed by the slow update process.

So eh.. it just depends at what angle you look at that.

Valheim is an independent Early Access Beta game. CyberPunk had a rather large cult following seething so much for its release that the developers felt the pressure to rush it through. Resident Evil is one of Capcom's top series.

Only surprise is Valheim being in the same category as them.

Best VR Game: Cooking Simulator.

No. No, i dont think sane people do have an impact on whats voted vor.

Whatever. Its probably not the number of votes rather then the percentage of votes. If 500 People vote for a game just 1000 people own, its probably in a better spot then a game where 5000 People voted for while 1m own it.

Valheim fell off and many people who loved the game at release are very very worried about the direction of the game espectially when the updates make the game worse ie autosave

some people even voted for another game on purposse...

We are?

This is as funny as talking about the amount of people playing online together when you can easily play offline.

the playerbase is about 1/2 of 1% of the people who bought valheim on steam. But yeah your opinon 'matters' bc you disagree with 99.4 %

People reaally don't play too many early access games, do they?

Seems to me they on par. That's pretty active considering some dead titles in my library.

But yea, they may have initially had too ambitious a roadmap for their timescale. And of course the community of players always will have an insatiable desire of "more content, now" that can rarely be fulfilled.

You missed the important part about playing offline... or you purposefully ignored it, I do not know which it is nor care.

Yeah it's rigged.
This game easily beat the other contenders. Best release in years.
As for all the whiners about slow updates... Mfs can't or don't read I guess. Devs literally said right off the bat they're a small team and never anticipated this kind attention. Along with that they said updates would take a long time.

It is getting quite annoying with this 'no content' nonsense.

To be clear: EARLY ACCESS GAMES ARE UNFINISHED GAMES, GAMES THAT ARE ACTIVELY BEING WORKED ON. Iron Gate, in particular, are a handful of independent developers.

When i bought Valheim, it cost $20. Considering, gameplay-wise, how polished it is, i consider it quite a deal. To clarify further, everything i stated is a fact, i am not defending the game or the devs. Just facts.

This.

I've been seeing this exact same argument on another game's forum, though, so it's clearly a somewhat widespread conspiracy theory. Seems it's only spread by people who dislike the results of the vote, though... not that that is surprising.
