That was before ml patch but after hearth and home when he got updated. The video is beating him in deer armour and eating some honey and deer meat. It just goes to show you can maneuver around his attacks and still keep damaging him. I appreciate this, but ive watched all the videos, and even if i get those two hit combos off by the time i get close enough again hes healed, theres something not right with how he spams meteors. also how long ago did you beat him? ive got hundreds of hours in this game and have never struggled once. Now its becoming a waste of time.
The only thing I'd check for you is are you playing on a server and is the server difficulty setting set for more than one player. If your playing solo but the server is for some reason set for 10 player difficulty than no wonder your struggling

I'm playing solo offline and after the changes I also found that Yagluth is probably the first real challenge of the game. You actually need a lot of healing potions now.
As others have mentioned you need the best possible gear and food and you have to tank his aoe damage to get your hits in. If he calls for meteors or does the attack from his mouth you just have to run. When you get down to one third of health or so hide behind a pillar and use a medium healing potion or wait for your health to get up naturally if your healing potions are on cool down. I think it took me at least around 20 minutes and a lot of healing potions to get him down finally.
AFAIK the silver sword is supposed to do the most damage to him if you can keep the debuff from the secondary attack up.

Yagluth is pretty much an undead skeleton, so make sure your weapons are appropriate for that. Piercing weapons won't do.

But he does heal, I got a sliver of his health down and it regenerated by the time I could do anymore. Ive got lvl 4 frostner, lvl 4 silver sword, all padded lvl 4 armor, and by the time he does his aoe he calls in other moves, havent got more then two hit combo without him dealing so much damage that Im close to death.

Sounds like you're being too passive. Eat a lox meat pie, bread, and fish wraps, and fire resist potion. This will give you plenty of health and enough stamina to fight.
When the boss does his big fire aoe, just tank it. The fire damage will be greatly reduced, so you can keep swinging away. If your health is starting to get low, drink a medium healing potion. When the boss calls in meteors, hide behind one of the large stone pillars and just regenerate stamina. Repeat until killed. Takes like 4 minutes.

right but he calls in the meteors constantly, im not being passive, i cant get close enough to do any damage worth it because of the other attacks, its not even a timing thing the boss just spams meteor attack.

Yagluth used to be tankable but now you do actually have to move around a abit since they upped his fire damage, even with fire resist theres a limit to how much is tankable. He should cycle through either aoe and metoer if your close enough to him, if you get far away enough he'll do beam attack.
A few different strategies can be used but mainly you have to keep an eye out for his openings, which he has but you don't usually get heaps of hits maybe 2 full combos.
I'll post a video, it shows yag getting beatdown without any tanking allowed

I definitely think Yagluth is the first truly hard boss you come up against. If your playing solo, You don't get any down time, its a constant push

Yes, he does regenerate, quite fast, such that arrows are a waste of time and materials.
Did you see this one? I just watched it yesterday. Some of it is cheese, but if that's what it takes, short of using the console...

The last time I killed him, I used a herd of lox to get him down to about a third, then bonemass tanked the rest. Still died once. It seems like wolves work much better because they can pile on better to attack.
I think the real trick is whether you can actually move or not. Those meteors do stun and those were what kept getting me. If you can get out of the way before the meteors hit you then that seems to make all the difference. If you're slow, then no dice. (I rather liked the part in the video above where the wet debuff makes it so you can block those normally, but that strategy depends a lot on location.)
After that, I watched this guy's Queen videos, and I am not at all interested in doing that fight now.

He's tanky, but doesn't heal. Fire resist potion allows you to basically ignore the large fire aoe while you continue attacking, and the stone pillars in the area can help block the meteor showers while you regen stamina. Bludgeon it in the face with maxed Frostner for a few minutes and you're good.
