What you think about such hardcore mode idea ? :)

I will be glad if we had hardcore mode without teleports (optional) and 1 life but because game is difficult i think will be good idea, for example, to have ability to make some expensive sacrifice to gods with materials and may be some quests (for example: plant 100 trees to help nature :) ) and you receive life insurance so after death you are resurrected but next time you have to make sacrifice again and now with different expensive materials and quest in result you are really value your life cos without gods favor if you die you and your world is deleted :)

Maybe they will add options once they get done, but it's also fine if they don't. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing.

Why hardcore? Because then it's more like Don't Starve. It also trains you to play more carefully. Up to you if that sounds appealing or not, but I've been getting some good mileage out of it. My personal rule is one extra life per unique boss defeated, which means Eikthyr is practically a freebie. And I only started that so I can check out the new stuff in the mountains without immediately starting over.

But for now, voluntary hardcore works fine. And you can set Valheim Plus to disable portals if you want. Mods aren't just for making things easier.

Interactions with gods would be nice, given how they seem to take interest in our actions, already.

Doesnt sound fun - so endless grind for a savegame? Especially in a game like this - this game is about exploring and building - what would the point of permadeath be? People would just rush bosses and be done with it - just imagine building and collecting for a hundred hours just to have you savegame deleted because you went to the plains to soon etc.

What is stopping you from just playing the game like that yourself? There is a reason why almost nobody plays ironman mode in most games.

Thats one of the main things i dont understand - many people ask for permadeath etc. yet this is something you can do yourself in any game without any mods or game settings - die -> stop playing that save and delete it.

Modes like that might be an option they add after the game is complete. For now you can just play by your own rules.

A note about the tree thing.
I see Odin as being the God of Modern Man. Our enemies are tree people or warped beings by nature and nature itself. If anything we are Gods anti nature force.

Hardcore with lives is a very popular multiplayer mode in other similar games. Extra points if the life pool is shared or players can burn their own lives to rescue each other.

Interesting. It's like Lord of the Rings but from Mordor's perspective.

It's like any myth by the way.

For Occident alone:

Olympians against Titans.
Heroes against (chaos) monsters.
Aesirs against Vanirs.
Gaels against Tuathans against Firbolgs.
Saints against dragons and other local demons.

Too many silly ways for characters to die for a hardcore mode to not just be frustrating.

Ex: Your food buff runs out while you're constructing without your noticing, and you jump down a few feet and take a little damage. Dead, cuz 25 HP is nothing.

The game just need bosses that spawn further away, the biomes spread and tougher more damaging mobs. A slider or some option to cause this stuff to happen. Once you hit iron the game is pretty much over.
