Playing solo. I got slain a half dozen times in the same part of the swamps, and now I have no gear to put on my guy to go out and retrieve the corpses. I go out naked... dead.... go out naked... dead... gangs of starred draugrs, skeles, and blobs all over the place. So all my hard won kit is sitting out there under corpse markers. I've managed to rebuild a decent kit now, and I want to save that progress before I go out and risk trying to pick up those corpses... got some strategies I think will work... but if I get killed again, well... whole lot of grinding to get it back, and all the ore deposits are getting further away... and the food reserves I had are out there under the corpse markers too, so wasting a lot of time hunting and fishing... was fun up to now...

I've tried copying the save directory to a backup folder, but when I copy it back, it has no effect. So... what exactly do I do with the buttons that say 'local' and 'cloud' and 'move to local/cloud' that are in a couple of places in the game menu sequence? Just want to save a checkpoint, go out and try a strategy, see if it works, and if not, reload and try again.

Did this once before, prior to the last patch upgrade. But the release notes are all about changes to local/cloud, and, well, I'm hoping they didn't do something that prevents this.

Unless you choose to move it local instead of keeping it on cloud, it is stored in a different folder. What'd you do?
