This game still using the Nintendo 64 engine?
Because I have a fairly nice computer so I can play NICE looking games, not N64 games.

Gameplay has always superseded graphics. Or we wouldn't have gaming at all. The first decade (or more) of gaming was all about game play and mechanics. Exclusively.
I do find it funny when people openly promote visuals over game play. I'm surprised anyone would admit to such a thing, as it is exceedingly shallow.

Hate to break it to you kiddo, but that Walmart clearance computer is far from "fairly nice" and would probably struggle to run Valheim at lowest settings. Because I have a fairly nice computer so I can play NICE looking games, not N64 games.
If you don't like the art style, go play something else.

i get what you mean...and i think more games are coming out that have older retro art styles because the younger generation (gen z and young millennials) didn't grow up with the older consoles and its new to them...its worse for me...i see ppl playing 8 bit stuff while they have an RTX 3080 and i just scratch my head...

It's an impressionistic style, like Monet. Greater focus on color and light and less on realism and detail. It makes for some fabulous screenshots.

It looks the way it does by design. Use a mod if it's not pretty enough for your tastes.

It's the artstyle for the game, dude. If you don't like it, this game isn't for you unfortunately.

Strange. Typically good graphics rendering games can play less graphic intense/lower style graphics games with no issues.... :P
It is an artistic style choice for the game. Essentially if that doesn't suit you, and since you as well do not own the game, then choosing not to own it is up to you.
All in all this is a non issue really.

the visual style of the game is rather nice for me at least.
i have a few older games i still play a lot as well. some much older then N64, closer to the 8088 of old.
but some people need visuals more. but it depends on what visuals you prefer as well.
so if you don't like the visuals of this game, you might want to pass this game by.
but remember, Steam allows a 2 hour play time window before refunds are no longer allowed.
who knows, you might be able to overlook the art stylized concept of the game and really dig into the gameplay itself.
