Sure but I can also understand that frustration can bring on anger. No reason to return it in kind when a helpful hand can turn that around if presented properly.

I think it is a situation most people can relate to... just don't take offense to the tone of posts like that and try to find the solution to the issue at hand. Personally I try to look at posts like this by first stripping away the emotional stuff and trying to find the real problem then offer a solution if I can without responding to emotion.

I've had crashes. They seem more tied to map issues. Starting a new map fixes it.

OP probably just got unlucky with map generation. There was even mention in the update notes about crashing due to sounds. Made me wonder if my last crashing map had that issue. Most of the issues I see are entering a certain area, game will just crash to desktop and no crash log or anything. Had a lox farm by the water. First crashed during a troll raid then it would crash when ever i went to that part of the map after that.

Out of 20 or so worlds it has only been 2 or 3 worlds that had the issue. It may be rare and most people may never have a problem...

Sadly really isnt true due to windows breaking installs, steam update failing, etc. Actually i myself had one crash and no idea what caused it was just chilling in house waiting for ore. I honestly dont know what OP wants with no good info, already refunded, etc. He mine as well not have posted now that i have thought about it.

I have not crashed... not even once and have almost 1,000 hours between 2 accounts, but I am also running on a gaming PC ($5,000 USD) + fiber optic internet *shrug* The only game i get crashes on is Fallout 4, which would make even a NASA computer crash LOL

Only ever had 1 crash myself, back in February when I originally got the game and just started. System turned 9 years old this September.

No crashes here either it used to in the beginning when saving, but there was some update that informed you " save world in 20 secs " to prep you to stop doing what your doing thats helarious like your in a battle and stop as the save will pause your game for a sec likely causing a crash.
You may need to look into how many buildings do you have clustered together are you playing SP or MP since MP seems to have problems with too many buildings.

Try playing in exclusive windowed mode
Make sure Valheim is closed.
Open Steam.
Right-Click on Valheim in your library and select properties.
Copy the following command and paste it into the launch options box at the bottom of the General section: -window-mode exclusive
Close the window to apply the changes.

Are your drivers for everything updated? ((Mobo, video card, all parts of your OS))
Is your Direct X up to date fully?
If you are using mods remove all of them and all parts of them.

Your 2080 should work, I played this previously on my Lenovo Legion Y520 laptop, back before September, which had a 2060. The only problems I ever had was overheating and excessive fan noise, which is why I would always stop playing and give it a rest every hour and half.
I'm now playing on actual gaming PC now.
... So either laptops can't handle the newer updates (which I haven't tested yet as of typing this), or maybe your laptop is lacking the proper specs elsewhere? If you list your laptops specs people that are smarter than me may be able to help you.

Try to keep an eye on your temperatures. I'm running this on a 5+ year old Asus laptop, with a 970M and a 2.00 GHz I7. At medium settings the game runs beautiful, so specs-wise there should be no issue. Perhaps the cooling isn't as great and the fact that your entire system crashes does indicate a problem not related to the game (at 60 hours game time I have yet to encounter a single crash as well).

Verify files if nothing is found delete the game manually then tell steam to uninstall then reinstall then verify files. If that doesnt fix it, it could be rare/weird bug or something on your end devs cant fix.

Also what they said is extremely relevant gaming laptops throw fits all the time.
