Recover an old world?

Steam sync fvyked me up today. I seem to have lost a ton of progress because I played for a short time on a different machine. Here's my question: can I delete the "worldname.db" and "worldname.fwi" files, and delete the 'old' from "worldname.db.old" and "worldname.fwi.old" and maybe get some progress back? Thanks for advice.

I haven't tried it but it should work if the .old files are indeed the world files you want to restore.
Just remember that the main thing to always be sure you do is to make a backup of the folder before you do anything.
Personally I keep the cloud sync turned off, its caused me too many headaches with all the traveling I do, And I've ended up in exactly the situation you are in now but I'm in the habit of making backups of my game character directories on an almost daily basis so I didn't lose much anyway.
