Just lost hours of progress...please help!
I haven't played Valheim in about a year, so a buddy and I decided to make a new world and characters and see what new stuff was in. We played for a while, beat the dear god and got a bunch of copper before we decided to call it a night. The world 'autosaved' like five minutes prior, but there was no manual save button. So I closed the server. I logged on today to find that the world had been wiped. Well, not completely though. Our house and chests were gone, but I woke up where our house was. Furthermore, I could see the map where we explored. Even stranger, there were my previous death markers for day 7 and such, but the game said it was day 1. I'm so confused here. I checked out the save files, and all of them were modified today but [savegame].fwl.old file, which seems to have been modified at the time we called it. Is there anyway to save my world from this file alone, or did we blow a whole day? What happened and how do I prevent this from going on in the future?

Look for a free data recovery program. You might still be able to recover the .old file if you find one right away and run it

sounds like your victim of a steam cloud save desynch which will be fixed next patch. You can prevent it by turning off steam saves for the moment.

make backups of all the files you have now.. then delete the new files, and rename the *.old ones..
