i have no clue why this works but its all green still. and it only works with these shaped blocks on top. it wont work with a square block.

devs : lets make the entrance to the queen boss a door above a giant marble foundation with 2 mistlights on flying rocks of pandora just in case a player goes crazy and levels the place.

me a marble builder that needs ALL THE MARBLE he can lay sight on who runs around the mistlands with a stone cutter : YES MOAR MARBLE.

yes these are floating. you cannot destroy them with the cutter just with weapons but takes way too long for the little marble you get.

I've been using clip through for ages.

The new black marble columns can clip so that wood iron beams are at their centre, I'm currently building a large iron reinforced black marble structure on columns over my dock. First floor has alternating \ and / windows meeting in the middle with diamonds (sadly bats can get through these diamonds).

One long wall has a dvergr wall display of my weapons and tools, so I can pick and choose load out with quick keys and e. The room is big enough to support two hearths with a fake chimney, just tidying the smoke away visually. Other long wall has chests for food mats and a bank of five ovens - with dvergr wall and crystal over them to divert smoke out of the existing windows, but still allow light in.

Lighting was still an issue however. So I used darkwood beams between columns one metre down from the ceiling to place rows of wisp torches clipped into the ceiling, and crystal over the stems to help pick up the light and hide the stems. It creates a surprising amount of ambient light considering the light source itself should be blocked. It also gets light up through the floor into the next floor.

Overall it's an ugly cube in the sky, but it'll be large and practical and difficult for raids to attack.

My chickens have already survived raids in their black metal barn, though the seekers were curious. My other lot of chickens in the make shift semi-outside area were slaughtered by bats 😂.

they were added same time the frost caves, and it the same 1 damage per hit guys, X about 30 at a time or something annoying. They don't damage the base much, if at all, what they do is sucker you into wrecking the place by going all zerker on them and hitting everything in sight. Step outside, and lay about away from anything you built, and its over in moments, load up the skins into the obliterator and call it a day.

Fun. I had spire pieces breaking on mere orange corner plinths. Marble structural integrity is weird, imo broken.

you can even add crystal windows right onto these dvergr copper windows. it looks really neat. thanks to the copper fence the crystal will stack on top each other. behold the crystal fortress.

heh -- the metal bits (all the iron cage, iron gate, ironwood beam, etc) and the new dwarf copper metal as well are incredible anchor points and let you do this kind of thing.
I wish we had a bunch of metal grate patterns.

as for windows, the 2 crystal max width is annoying but you can make some pretty stuff. I have a rotated square (corner to the ground) of 45 degree black wood poles (4 pieces) filled with crystal in one home, and the gap-wall black marble can make a diamond pattern, while 1x1 anything (marble, rock, wood) can make a somewhat rounded window, and so on. you can also embed it into the fancy wood 2x1 decorative piece. I would give a LOT though if they would just let crystal stack 1 tile. Just 1.

i am not sure this intended so i am conerning building my walls like this for now. they might fix it. as this only works with these tetris slope blocks you see above. it doesnt work with square blocks as they will only snap to the middle of this fenceing.

currently consdering useing this for a walkway around my new harbor marble base. an enclosed walkway so to speak. the advantage is i could build outward small plattforms with iron beams from this (tested it) and put a ballista on this plattform. which looks neat as ♥♥♥♥.

but urgh. constant trips to the mistlands to collect marble. its a slow process but seeing the base grow is so satisfying.

last time i had this much enjoyment form a build system was the forest.
