Oh and not stacking the poison from poison arrows seems kinda like an oversight

Stack the poison from the bow with the cold damage from frost arrows.

The "only weapon" hehe... Almost all weapons have that feature. Starting from Flint Axe.

/ tangent
As for bow progression, there is one more side to this. In some cases (huntsman bow) that if you put the resouces that you'd spent on bow into arrows instead you get same damage increase for cheaper.

Alos when you start using later arrows (obsydian, neddle) finewood bow is actually still revelant. You sacrifice a little bit of damage compared to draug for much less stamina drain and you level up bows faster which over time will result in better damage anyways.

Well, read a few more words in and you'll see the statement was "only weapon I've made...."

Typically, the first upgrade IS actually less. Second upgrade usually uses about as much of the "main" material as crafting it, and 3rd upgrade typically costs 150%. It's not a universal formula, but it's more or less what to expect. Notable exceptions are the regular club and stagbreaker.

Im reading whole sentence 10th time already and cant find any other more likely meaning than he being surprised at upgrade cost curve for the first time.
Tbh Idk who is misunderstanding who here haha. But it does not matter as we are on the same page regarding facts.

Wait until you see how much it costs to get a fully upgraded silver sword.

I rather enjoy mining silver over iron.. so I don't mind the price. I'd rather be in mountains than swamp.. lol.

I skipped straight to a black metal sword from an iron sword.
Didnt see the small increase in physical as worth it on the silver sword.

Plus since I have a flax and barley farm im passively stockpiling black metal ore.

Silver is usually the first time I make a sword. The spirit damage on it is great, especially when you have to go back to swamps for Iron (well, pre-Mistlands anyways). Mace was always my go-to for Iron Age, though that somewhat changed to include Axe when Abominations were added. (Before that, I sometimes didn't even bother with an iron axe and went straight to Black metal.)

My flax and barely farms have almost always been exclusively on islands, except for maybe one or two playthroughs, but always had enough Black metal from looking for Yagluth (Vegsivrs or the altar itself).

it lasts until mistlands and you can get it fairly early into silver. however its mostly needed for gjalls. so not necessary but highly useful until you can make the mistlands bow.
