Swamps are a Wall to progress

After a game break of some months I came back to find Swamps have become impossible to make any progress through.
The volume, levels and speed of respawns has gone through the roof.
200yds turn around look back the way you came and the swamp is reinfested already.

About the 10th time I have tried to make it to a Swamp Crypt with all the best gear available, best meals, potions tons of XP.
As soon a I set foot from the boat in a minute I am surrounded hounded and its hopeless.
2 Abominations, a pack of 6 skeletons, 4 Draugr swamp things, 2 jellies and a Wraith all on me at the same time with blood sucking Leech eel thingies biting my ankles.
Yes I know daytime/nighttime but hey try timing it when every stupid game devs keep insisting on whole days lasting 10 mins, the wind always turns against you trying to progress along a shoreline when you need it most, every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing swims out to the boat to attack it but hey you struggle to shoot your bow downwards because 3rd person view cant manage it and the AI always goes straight underneath your position on land or boat.
And guess what creatures can throw stones, punch and slash at you while THEY swim or walk under water without breathing but you can't do anything and can barely float for 20 seconds before you bleed out from exhaustion!!!!!!!!!!!
Stamina levels are ridiculous feeble.
Besides its just the wraith, the rest is the same anyway.

SO I quit playing today. It is a shame I did enjoy the first play through on release.
Its seems to be a common update issue with game devs, the leveling becomes based on the experience of fanatical players and their own inside knowledge, the more game updates there are.
For any newbie or returnee trying to push through on a fresh start game its now a broken OP misery.

Well going back in with a silver sword is such a pleasure. Everything takes spirit damage :D

I will agree that the swamp is harder than the plains and mountains based on the Tech available to the player when they first go there. Having a high bow skill helped me the first time.

I started after H&H and only play solo. I don't know just how easy it was before, but I have had no real problems going through the current content (up to killing Yag) three times. The last time I started just before the Abominations were introduced, so they were there when I got to the swamps. When I have been mobbed on I realized what I had been doing, and modified my behavior.

Whenever I read a post about mobs being too tough and being ganged up on, I believe its just moving too fast through a new threat area and pulling too many mobs to handle. They probably could deal with things if they just took a bit more time exploring and just step back when they advance on your position, instead of running toward the new mob thereby pulling more to themselves.

The anti-swamp theme seems common these days. Is it the distaste for damp challenges? Anyway, it's your choice.

Seriously have you really played the game??
Have to tried to avoid using a boat to get to a swamp when its of a different Island?
ERRMMM did you read my description I was being chased by a mixed bag of nasties try avoiding having to cross water in a ...S W A M P.... !!!!

if only kids these days knew how to use a hoe. Go drink some potion resitance mead(it kinda cancels swamp, and double cancels it's boss), build a portal or two, make yourself a treehouse on some big ass tree and try to have some fun.

Yeah exactly right, also I might go back in one time and kick ass in my old play though for some vengence.
I am level 35 Bow but its the damned Stamina that kills when you get mobbed. You can't fight back once you have to start running.
I might if i do ever play again go back to my earlier play through.
I just thought with a big patch it might be worth a fresh game, seems not so from my experience.
Though it varies with everyone's own play through because of the unique maps generated with different biome layouts, distances, sizes, random POIs etc, spawns.

in that case you are most likely a failure of a gamer and probably should consider working as a game journalist. Want me to take my old char and pull you through the swamp? i've got a few hours to spare
