The low-res style is the aesthetic of the game that the developers did on purpose. In any case, there are oodles of mods to change all sorts of elements of the game. If a nuftie like me can figure it out, so can everyone else. :) Have fun!

People apparently call it an artstyle and like it lol. Sure i like it if the game was made 10-20 years ago but not for new games. Nexus has TONS of mods. Coco texture mod is pretty good and also enemies plus texture mod.

I would suggest you manually install mods but thats just me. 99% of them have very clear instructions.
