Is it better now?
So, I stopped playing the game exactly 1 year ago, mainly because of the issues around optimization and big construction projects. I am a builder, I like heavily modifying the terrain, I like building big bases, etc. At the time it wasn't possible without ruining the performance, So, is it better now or should I just keep waiting?

there's a command to run in the console to "upgrade" old worlds to the new terrain system so it wont be instantly faster, you'll need to move around your builds a little and run the command a few times to optimise old builds.
optterrain
is the command you're looking for.Edit: I suggest looking at some of the screenshots that players posted here? It gives you an idea what is seemingly possible currently.

note also the patch may take some time to instal/run first time from your "old world" logging out after a bit of a look see should be more indicative when you log in second time of normal loading time.. (no im not a dev and dont think ive slept with one :-) ) If you still have your old build that was slow, fire it up and see if it is giving good FPS under the current patch?
